What are the correct operating methods of rotary evaporator?
Rotary evaporator is mainly used for continuous distillation of a large number of volatile solvents under reduced pressure. In particular, in the chromatographic separation process, the reaction products can be separated and purified by concentrating the extraction liquid and distilling the receiving liquid. The basic principle of rotary evaporator is vacuum distillation, that is, when distilling solvent under reduced pressure, the distillation flask keeps rotating. Structure: The distillation bottle can be a pear-shaped or round-bottomed flask with a standard grinding port, which is connected with a decompression pump through a high reflux serpentine condenser tube, and the other opening of the reflux condenser tube is connected with a receiving bottle with a grinding port for receiving the evaporated organic solvent. There is a three-way piston between the condensing pipe and the decompression pump. When the system is communicated with the atmosphere, the distillation bottle and the liquid receiving bottle can be removed and the solvent can be transferred. When the system is connected with the decompression pump, the system should be in a decompression state. When in use, the pressure should be reduced first, and then the motor should be started to rotate the distillation bottle. After completion, stop the machine first, and then ventilate the atmosphere to prevent the distillation bottle from falling off during rotation. As the heat source of distillation, it is often equipped with a corresponding thermostatic water tank. So what? The correct operation method of rotary evaporator is as follows: 1. After the rotary evaporator is turned on, metal thermometers, marine thermometers, V-type thermometers and copper thermometers should be familiar with the corresponding positions of components. When taking the instrument, hold the bracket with one hand, sit on the base with the other hand or hold the bracket with both hands, and take it out slowly. Do not use hand-held binoculars or horizontal axes. 2. Before taking out the instrument, put the tripod well, put it on the tripod immediately after taking it out and fix it with the central screw. 3. Before packaging the rotary evaporator, the observer shall not leave the instrument. 4. The rotary evaporator must be handled by the inspector, and shall not be collided or inverted. 5. When checking the rotary evaporator, it must be placed in a padded shock-proof box, and the words "Do not turn upside down" should be marked on the outside of the box, and the words "Optical or electronic instruments, handle with care, do not use too much force" should be written. When necessary, send someone to escort. 6. When transporting the rotary evaporator by car, it should be placed on the front cushion of the car, or held by people on their legs, or carried on their backs, not on the bottom cabinet of the car. 7. When moving the station for a short distance, hold the instrument vertically to keep the instrument in a vertical state of the vertical axis. Never carry it horizontally on your shoulders to avoid bumping against the instrument or damaging its shafting. 8. When packing the rotary evaporator, fix or loosen the brake screw according to the instrument type, put all the components in their respective positions, gently close the box cover and fasten the hooks on both sides. 9. Pay attention to check whether the tools and accessories are placed firmly when closing the box, so as to avoid moving during transportation and damaging the instrument parts. 10. If there are any obstacles in the box and lid, find out the reasons, remove them, and then close the lid. Hard pressing and hard buckle are strictly prohibited.
