The so-called banlou refers to the same number of households in the building from bottom to top, which looks like a board in appearance, while the number of households in the tower decreases from bottom to top, and the whole building is tower-shaped.
From the point of view of the house itself, the north-south permeability of the banlou is reasonable, and the comfort will be higher than that of the tower. However, due to the planning restrictions, many banlou buildings have made great efforts to deepen, which will increase the black space and reduce the comfort.
As for the tower, because there were more households in the early tower, there were fewer rooms convenient for lighting and ventilation. Recently, architects and developers have been exploring slimming and plastic surgery for towers, such as needle-shaped and well-shaped. At present, some towers on the market are mostly four or six households with one staircase. Such a tower is basically close to the level of banlou in lighting and ventilation, and its comfort is greatly improved, but its price is more than that of banlou. For the wage earners who are not well off, the iron tower is still very affordable. In addition, due to its point-like layout, there are many ventilation passages in the middle of the building, so the overall ventilation of the community is better and the field of vision is wider. Therefore, we can't blindly think that the banlou is definitely better than the tower. We can only say that each has its own shortcomings.
