1. Apply a style or preset as a layer.
Right-clicking a style or preset will open a menu where you can choose different options. Selecting "Apply to New Layer" will create a new layer with the same name and adjustment items as the selected style or preset. In the Layer tool, you can adjust the opacity of the layer to control the effect.
This feature requires tools to be included in the layer's style or default. Black and white, film texture, basic color editor and vignetting cannot be applied to layers. If a style contains tools that cannot be applied to a layer, a warning appears.
2. Add the same tool multiple times.
Are you tired of switching back and forth between RGB and brightness curve? Or the dark part, midtone and highlight of color balance? Now, this skill will help you! Because the interface of CaptureOne is customizable, we can simply add the same tool several times and put it together. We can do this in the current tool tab, or we can create our own tool tab. Add a new tool by right-clicking an empty area in the Tools tab.
3. Movie Curve-Extra Shadow
When the automatic curve is applied and the camera is straight out, the contrast or saturation of some images is slightly heavier. Of course, this is a subjective question, but if you like your image to be more peaceful at the beginning, here is a technique that suits you!
In the Color Tools tab, select Basic Functions. Change "Auto" to "Film Extra Shading". This will provide a starting point for reducing contrast. If necessary, you can quickly pull back to the same contrast or some level modulation on the contrast slider.
This film curve can be saved as the default option of the camera and applied to the image when importing. Click the Tools submenu, and then select "Save as Default …"
4, advanced color editing, tone rotation
If you have ever used an advanced color editor, you may encounter the 30-degree limit of the color slider. Does this mean that you can't change the selected color range more than 30 degrees around the color wheel? No, there are tricks! This tool allows you to choose up to 30 colors-each layer. With this in mind, you can simply select a color range (again and again …) and change the hue in the same direction, so you can change the hue of the selected color by 30 degrees at a time. The purpose of this 30-degree limit is to ensure that the precise adjustment is quick and simple.
5. Create a customized ICC profile.
Do you think the photos taken by one camera are too red, or do you want the photos taken by another camera to be less saturated in blue? If you are not satisfied with the camera color profile supported by Capture One, you can create your own color profile. Any color adjustment in the color editor can be saved as a customized ICC profile and applied to future images.
