The blood trough first appeared in Diablo in 1996. This standard western-style magic game laid the foundation for Red Blood and Blue Devils. And the round glass ball is used to hold the liquid representing blood volume and magic value, supplemented by the images of angels and demons, which creates a precedent for the UI interface of the blood tank.
Since then, online games such as Legend and Paradise have borrowed this setting.
As an MMORPG, DNF also refers to this setting. At first, the designer of DNF deliberately adopted a capsule-shaped blood trough to distinguish it from other MMOs. By the end of the 60th edition, the blood tank of DNF was officially changed back to a spherical design. After all, from an aesthetic point of view, the shape of capsules is far less than spherical.
At the same time, the designer also added an animation effect to the blood tank, and the liquid inside seemed to flow carefully. Other aspects continue the design of the 60 th edition, and the function bar is still in the middle. The only difference is that the arch design is removed.
The third change is in version 70-85. At this time, the blood tank did not make too many design changes, mainly changing the functional area in the middle. Menus and shopping malls are highlighted and enlarged, while other activity tips are displayed on the UI bar. What is a bit abrupt is that the second row of skill bars still has no background and is out of the "suspended" state. So in the 90 version, the designer made another change.
This time, not only the UI, but also the blood groove has changed, and the decoration like "jewel buckle" has been removed and changed into a pure sphere. At the same time, the percentage display is added to the blood tank, which is convenient for players to match equipment and skills. In the 100 version, the UI design was further improved, the skills were placed in the center, and the blood tank was added with a frame similar to a gear, which was inspired by the "gear" of the secondary door. The ribbon has been moved to the left, and most of the activity tips can be hidden by the bell button, making the overall interface cleaner and cleaner.
UI is the facade of a game, and the UI of DNF tends to be rationalized with the change of version. I don't know which version of UI you like best, and when is your DNF with the best UI?
