What is the belief of Buyi people?
Many Buyi people have accepted the Christian faith, which makes Christianity of western culture take root in this relatively narrow land. Around 1797, western culture collided with this ancient culture. When the western culture was strongly resisted by the Han culture which had been deposited for thousands of years, that is, the policy of banning religion in the mainland at the end of 18, the mainland believers who fled here had spread the Christian religious culture here, which made the soil here pregnant with the seeds of western Christianity, and many Buyi people quietly believed in Catholicism. In addition, in the afternoon of 1840, missionaries entered the Buyi inhabited areas by virtue of their privileges, and set off a large-scale Buyi "returning home movement", which greatly increased the number of Buyi religious believers. There are 30,000 people in Zhenning County alone, and many Buyi villages in other Buyi communities such as Anlong, Wangmo, Xingyi, Changshun and Puding also believe in religion. Although there have never been any clergy here, there are many religious believers. Today, this belief still coexists between folk and traditional religions. Although it has not been concerned by the outside world, the Buyi religious people here live in harmony with people of the same race, respect each other and serve the local economic construction. There are also many advanced villages, and advanced individuals have played an exemplary role in the local area.
