If anyone likes climbing mountains, climbing mountains to exercise their physical strength and will, then Huangshan Mountain is really an ideal place. There are too many peaks you can climb, some of which are quite dangerous, so you need to be careful and sweat all over. But you can get paid at any time, stand in a new place, and the peaks you have seen before have a new attitude. Just say that it is not for the above purpose, just going there to see nature, mountains, clouds, trees and flowing springs can also broaden your horizons and broaden your mind.
It is about 300 kilometers from Hangzhou yihanghui highway to Huangshan mountain. The bus can go to Tangkou at the southern foot of Huangshan Mountain, and the chartered bus can go a little further to the hot spring. There are hotels in the hot springs. There are also hotels in the lion forest on the north side of the mountain. The Wenshuyuan in the south-central part of the mountain was once allowed to stay overnight, but it was burned down in 1952. Now the hotel is built on the original site of Wenshuyuan, which can be completed within this year. Living in a forest with lions is convenient for traveling in the north and west of Huangshan Mountain, and living in Wen Shu Academy is convenient for traveling in the middle, mainly Tiandu Peak and Lotus Peak.
All the roads up and down the mountain are paved with stone steps, which are five or six feet wide and less than three feet narrow. When the road passes on the bare stone, it is cut into a slope. If the slope of the large stone surface is large, the cut stone steps will be steep, and stone fences or iron ropes will be installed next to them. The mountain spring is always oozing, the stone is wet, and the roadside often goes straight down the cliff. This preventive measure is necessary.
Now briefly talk about several places we have been to. Finding the right orientation and direction when writing travel notes is the most difficult thing for readers. Front, back, left and right, readers are still elusive. I want to make it clear that I'm afraid I may not be able to do it. Where we go, the hot springs are at the southernmost tip of the forest, and the lions are at the northernmost tip of the forest. These two places are almost upright. We took the east road, first to Kuzhuxi in the east of the hot spring, and then went up the mountain there. Go all the way to the northwest, just like a series of right triangles, pass through Jiulong Waterfall and Yungu Temple, and finally stop at Lion Forest, where the height is about 1700 meters. Of course, you can't visit, you can only stay in the small building and listen to the rain. On the third day, it cleared up. We climbed the balcony on the back of the Lion Forest, climbed the Shixin Peak in the southeast of the Lion Forest, and then generally went south to Guangmingding. In these two or three hours, we enjoyed the "sea of clouds". Some tourists stayed on the mountain for several days to see the "sea of clouds", but they didn't see it at last and went down the mountain discontentedly. We didn't want to see it, but we happened to see it. In Guangmingding, we saw Tiandu Peak and Lotus Peak in the south. Tiandu Peak is in the east, Lotus Peak is in the west, and Wenshuyuan is between the two peaks. Once upon a time, some people said that the sky was the highest, while others said that the lotus was the highest. It is said that the recent measurement is the highest on the bright top. Houses are being built there, and weathermen often work there. We bypassed the western half of Lotus Peak to Wenshuyuan, then bypassed the southwest foot of Tiandu Peak and went all the way down to the hot spring. Speaking of detours, we can see that the direction of this section of the road has changed from time to time, but it is still south on the whole. It is said that it is also more than 30 miles from the lion forest to the south back to the hot springs. We only reached the south of the eastern half of Huangshan Mountain. I haven't consulted any picture books, so I can't tell how big the whole Huangshan Mountain is.

There is no temple in Yungu Temple, only the temple base is left. There is a different pine tree in front of the steps. It is said that there are two different shapes of leaves. When we look closely, we see a small rectangular leaf on a branch, which is different from most leaves. Judging from the shape and emerald green of most leaves, it should be cypress, and I don't know why it is called pine. There are always hundreds of years old.
At the top of the balcony and Shixin Peak are cliffs protruding slightly outward, and at the bottom are deep valleys with dense trees. The standing feet are very narrow and can only accommodate seven or eight people. If it weren't for the stone railing, you would be flustered standing there. If the wind is strong, I'm afraid it's not easy to stand firm. The Manjusri desk in front of Manjusri Academy is wider, but there are two big stones protruding from the south, the top of which is flattened and left on the edge as a natural railing, which is narrower and can only accommodate two or three people. Although Guangmingding is the highest place in Huangshan Mountain, it is relatively flat and open, and it is like walking on the flat ground when you get there.
We will watch the "sea of clouds" in several places mentioned above. Looking out, it's all clouds, which can be said to be smooth sailing on the whole, but separately, there are thin slow waves here, but there are rough waves there, all kinds of which are enough for you to imagine. All the mountains are not under the clouds, only a few peaks are exposed, which are dark green and almost black. That can naturally be imagined as an island at sea.
Seeing Tiandu Peak and Lotus Peak from Guangmingding, because it is head-up, we can see it most clearly. As far as the texture of rock is concerned, the two peaks are obviously different from each other in terms of the wrinkling method of rock in Chinese painting. Tiandufeng is almost a vertical line, and all the lines are arranged quite closely, giving people a feeling of towering and straight. The rock of Lotus Peak is roughly lotus petal-shaped, and the petals are stacked quite neatly. Looking at the whole mountain, we imagined a lotus flower that had just bloomed. I don't know who named the Lotus Peak. It's so aptly described.
Earlier, it was said that we bypassed the western half of Lotus Peak and went to Wenshuyuan, which was not easy to go. On the way, you have to pass the back of the octopus. Octopus's back is a huge rock, with a bulge in the middle and a considerable slope. The stone steps cut out of the rock are steep and narrow, and the right hand side looks down at the cliff. Get off the fish's back and go through the fish hole, which is a natural hole. People used to build mountain roads and cross them. You have to climb a hundred steps to get out of the hole, which is a very steep and dangerous stone step. This just arrived at Wenshuyuan.
It is not easy to bypass the southwest foot of Tiandu Peak from Wenshuyuan. The extremely narrow road is between the stone walls, which are seeping and the stone steps are wet. If the foothold is unstable, it will slide. Several stone walls tilted and formed an incomplete cave with the opposite stone wall, almost touching our heads, so we had to bow our heads.
After this walk, we looked up at the way to climb Tiandu Peak, which was extremely steep, and most of them had chains as railings. We are not going up, so we have enough to see. It is said that there is a road called crucian carp back when we are about to reach the summit. This is a very narrow ridge that can only be crossed by one person. People who are not on both sides are so high-lying and weak-hearted that they will never dare to cross over. A mist came over and the mountain peak was completely exposed. We saw the back of crucian carp, where there were chains. I think, since there are chains, I can probably get there
We didn't go to Lotus Peak either. It is said that climbing the lotus peak requires several holes, just like crossing the lotus root hole. Since the mountain peak is compared to the lotus, the cave is naturally associated with the lotus cave.
Now let's talk about hot springs. I haven't been to many hot springs, only Fuzhou, Chongqing and Lintong. Those places smell of sulfur. There are no hot springs in Huangshan. As far as the temperature is concerned, it is higher than those places, but it is not too hot to go down. The pool is paved with pebbles, which play a role in filtering sand, so the water is often clear. Sitting on the stone by the pool, the whole body was immersed in the water, showing only one head and rubbing his chest with his arm stretched out. The feeling of damp heat is all over the body, which is very comfortable. It is said that the temperature of this hot spring can be naturally adjusted. It's cooler when it's hot and hotter when it's cold. I think this may be caused by people's feelings. Compared with the temperature of the atmosphere, the temperature of spring water is colder and hotter. Whether this conjecture is correct is uncertain.
We stayed in the Lion Forest for two nights, and both of us covered with two quilts. Look at the thermometer carefully that day when listening to the rain. It's 60 degrees Fahrenheit in the morning, and then it rises to 62 degrees. It was the eighth and twentieth. Go back to Hangzhou on the 31st. It's 86 degrees by the West Lake. The guide who accompanied me up the mountain said, "This is called Tiandu Peak, which is the steepest peak in Huangshan Mountain; The sedan chair can't get up, so we have to climb on foot. This changed from four mountains to five mountains, that is, Hengshan Mountain in the north, Hengshan Mountain in the south, Taishan Mountain in the east, Huashan Mountain in the west, and later Songshan Mountain in the middle. The general explanation is that the five mountains were visited by the emperor; My other idea is to use these mountains to mark four borders of China-four conceptual borders. Huangshan lives in seclusion in Shexian, yi county, Taiping and Jingde, only near Taiping, and the traffic is blocked.
