The play tells the story between an ordinary mother and her five children in a small town in northern Jiangsu from the early 1980s to the turn of the century. The play premiered on Shandong Qilu Channel on March 2nd, 202 1.

In the mid-1970s, Zhou Qing, the husband of Dianthus chinensis, a female worker in a street carton factory, sent her to work in Xingkai Lake Farm. Dianthus insisted on raising children in a small town in northern Jiangsu, trying to cope with hardships and accidents in life. After setting things right, Zhou Qing returned home, but due to emotional misunderstanding, she separated from Dianthus.

After experiencing emotional pain, Dianthus continued to work hard for this broken family and sent her three sons to college at the same time in the second year after the resumption of the college entrance examination. After that, Dianthus worried that her daughter had delayed her studies because of her poor health. At this time, she felt the signal of the changes of the times, withstood the heavy pressure and helped her daughter's family to open a private small restaurant in the county.
