How to tell whether it is lumbago or renal pain?
When observing and feeling abdominal signs, there is another place worthy of our attention, that is, the abnormal feeling of the waist-low back pain.

Lumbago is one of the clinical manifestations of dozens of diseases. The weight of the head, neck, upper limbs and trunk of the human body is all borne by the waist, and the posture, load and movement of people in daily life and work are centered on the waist. The waist is also the central area connecting the chest, abdominal cavity and pelvic cavity. Therefore, low back pain can be the manifestation of pathological changes in tissues and organs in these structures. In addition, diseases of spine, waist muscles, ligaments, nervous system and abdominal organs can also be manifested as low back pain.

Because the causes of low back pain are complicated, it is often necessary to carefully observe and analyze the causes of low back pain.

① After bending hard, carrying weight or lifting weights, low back pain suddenly appears, and the muscles on both sides of the lumbar spine have spasms and tenderness, suggesting that it may be acute lumbar sprain or lumbar muscle strain.

② Low back pain is like a "burst" pain, radiating along the hip to the back of thigh, popliteal fossa and the outside of calf, often with the feeling of acupuncture or electric shock. After lumbago, the lower limbs feel numb and swollen, and the symptoms can be alleviated after the patient lies down. However, when standing, walking or even coughing, sneezing and defecating are difficult, the low back pain is obviously aggravated, suggesting that it may be a lumbar disc herniation.

③ Low back pain, especially near the 4th and 5th lumbar vertebrae. The well radiates to one side of the lower limb, and even there is obvious numbness. When lying flat, the affected lower limb can't be lifted straight, suggesting that it may be root sciatica. This disease is more common in middle-aged men aged 30-50.

④ Knife-cutting colic suddenly appears on one side of the waist and abdomen, and the pain can radiate to the lower abdomen, perineum and inner thigh along the direction of ureter walking, lasting for several minutes to several hours at a time. When low back pain occurs, the patient bends over, fidgets, looks pale, sweats, and has obvious impact pain on the affected side of the back. Different degrees of hematuria often appear after pain, suggesting that it may be urinary calculi. This disease is more common among young people, and can occur in both men and women.

⑤ At first, there is pain in the middle or right upper abdomen, and then it can cause dull pain in the waist. At the onset, patients often feel restless, bending over and rolling in pain, sweating, pale face, nausea and vomiting, but when the stone returns to the gallbladder or enters the duodenum, the pain can completely disappear, which can be seen in gallstones.

⑥ Low back pain with urgency, frequent urination and dysuria suggests pyelonephritis.

⑦ Lumbar tuberculosis or renal tuberculosis should be considered in patients with low back pain with a history of tuberculosis.
