Why do men and women breathe differently? (abdomen and chest)
Men are all abdominal breathing, mainly through the contraction of diaphragm between chest and abdomen, changing the pressure of pleural cavity to produce breathing, and it seems that the stomach will fluctuate. Women are chest breathing, mainly by muscle contraction between ribs to change the pressure of pleural cavity, so there will be chest ups and downs. Both kinds of breathing actually exist, but one of them is dominant.
