At the age of ten, he joined the Beijing Theatre Academy, inherited his father's style, and majored in civil and military veterans. After eight years of teaching, I studied under the headmaster Ma and teachers such as Wang Shaolou, Xu Yuanshan, Qian Yuanshun, Ru, Ru Shaozuo, etc., and my civil and military skills are solid. After a period of life training, Li Baochun joined the Peking Opera Promotion Group of Gu Gongliang Cultural and Educational Foundation from 65438 to 0990, and it has been ten years since then. He remembers his father's strict and capable guidance in art and profound and heartfelt advice in life. He is self-motivated, innovative and diligent. Up to now, 44 new and old plays have been performed, with nearly 200 performances. Recalling that he left China to live in the United States, Li Baochun said that in "Fan Bang", his favorite Peking Opera art completely took root; In order to keep the freedom of practicing piano and singing opera at any time, he chose to open a shop as the boss to sell ice cream for a living. After the Cultural Revolution in China and the aimless days in the United States, he only cared about "grievances and other plays", and his family knowledge made him cherish it more and more. He deeply realized that "the opportunity in life is rare, and if you have it, you must seize it." Therefore, despite "the need of work and the pressure of life", he usually lives alone in Taipei, and finally flies back to the United States for a short time in winter and summer vacations to meet his relatives, and his homework for the next play has to go hand in hand. Why make-up, direct and act? Li Baochun in his usual self-deprecating tone said, "this is the last resort! 」

For example, the upcoming Bashan Scholar is based on the famous screenwriter Wei Minglun's Sichuan Opera of the same name. It's popular in the field of drama in Taiwan Province Province to seek talents from mainland China, but Li Baochun will definitely write a script when it comes to his directing and acting skills, whether it's a new play or a "new and old play" that has already become famous. Li Baochun, who was born in Beijing Peking Opera Theatre, said earnestly that the famous screenwriters and directors in Chinese mainland are very busy, not to mention that "no matter how well they do here, they won't win prizes", so the time for real cooperation is limited, and it is even more impossible to understand "the state of actors and audiences in Taiwan Province Province". At present, the national Peking Opera Troupe on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are striving for a "big" new production, especially in the mainland. "There is nothing that two or three million can't win." In contrast, the Taipei New Theatre Company is an outlier. Li Baochun described the production mode of the troupe as "small-scale production". The advantage of Taipei New Troupe is that it is "small-box" and everyone "takes it as a family matter". He said, "It's not necessarily good to open a restaurant with big curtains. We have a small curtain, so we can concentrate on the dishes. 」

Li Baochun mocked himself for his late start as a screenwriter, "doing things that are not his specialty is slow", and it is not easy to settle down and create in Taiwan Province, so he always decides the repertoire first and then flies back to the United States to write the script. For him, writing plays is like the style of "simple aesthetics" for Taipei New Theatre Company. At first, it was actually forced by reality, but in the end it tasted the sweetness. Like Strange Injustice, in addition to the visibility of the performance mentioned above, Liu Shichang's sentimental grievances were hidden in the snow in the last scene, but he died suddenly and could not go home for a while, which won the audience * * *. Li Baochun said that opera singing without "feelings" is not enough. Based on this idea, in Bashan Scholar's original work, the play ended in the sudden death of the scholar couple after drinking poison. He changed it to: The scholar woke up and fought after witnessing the abnormal situation of officialdom, so that he was cheated into drinking poison. At this time, the two couples who pursued lifelong first and saved CoCo Lee sang a lot, and they confessed to each other from the beginning of the story. Did the scholar finally die? Li Baochun said confidently, it doesn't matter. The important thing is that the drama deepens, the emotions are strong, the characters stand up, and "people's feelings come out", which will be the biggest difference between the Beijing opera version and the original Sichuan opera.
When Li Baochun writes a play, all he thinks about is how to make the play "beautiful" to please the audience. The ups and downs in Taiwan Province's political arena have never stopped, but he has long been tired of "literature and art serve politics" and doesn't think much about it. As for the so-called function of drama, he said that living in this society, social dynamics "you don't want it, its influence on you is still there."
