The design is called Mehndi, and some are called henna.

It uses the leaves or seedlings of the natural plant henna to grind into paste pigment, and paints on palms, backs of hands and feet.

In addition to dressing up or making gadgets on weekdays, Indians traditionally draw this temporary tattoo on the eve of major festivals or bride-to-be's wedding to celebrate and regard it as a decoration and blessing for the festival.
