Jian Yue fitness
Dear Jian Yue users, long time no see. Chrome 1. 1.0 was released on 109 days ago. Jian Yue eventually supported Firefox and any browser.

In order to improve the small goal of reading mode, I adapted 160+ website, and thus was born-Jian Yue: Chrome extension of immersive reading.

For some data of Jian Yue, the statistics ended on April 20th18, 17.

Since Mozilla released Project Quantum, there is finally a decent plug-in API( WebExtensions API) on Firefox, which greatly reduces the cost of Chrome migration.

In addition, it also provides a website for compatibility check of Chrome extensions to facilitate migration (how urgent is Mozilla ...? )

However, due to the compatibility problem of browsers, it is impossible to have a "unified" situation, so when moving to Jian Yue, it is not so smooth (and there are countless loopholes ...).

Finally, the Chrome version and the Firefox version maintain 99% unity in vision and operation, and the difference appears in the address bar, as shown below:

When 1.0.0 was released, many friends wanted Apple Safari/ Microsoft Edge and Firefox versions. Thanks to quantum scheme, Jian Yue was successfully transplanted to Firefox.

But the first two are not so easy. Although Microsoft Edge has joined the WebExtensions API, I don't have Win 10… so I can't transplant it smoothly.

However, porting to Safari requires "partial recoding", so it is not a short-term thing.

With the version of 1.0.3, Jian Yue has been out of the category of pure reading mode, but after all, some users just want to use Jian Yue's reading function, so a new idea was born:

Making an abridged version for Jian Yue not only meets the demand of slimming in Jian Yue, but also facilitates the secondary development based on other browsers.

Method of final landing:

In fact, UserScript is quite powerful. If you want, you can even transplant a whole set of functions? (The reason why I didn't do this is based on the above design ideas of the corresponding light reading version. )

However, UserScript also has its shortcomings, because it is cross-browser, so naturally it is impossible to modify the browser appearance (such as address bar, action bar, etc.). ) such as the native API.

Reading mode products need a trigger point (such as the above picture), so the "light reading version" needs to find another way.

After thinking, I still intend to use Jian Yue's design elements (the red origin in the lower right corner) to achieve visual unity. The final plan is as follows:

In addition, in order to ensure the visual consistency between Jane Yue and the light reading version, the focus mode and reading mode are unified as much as possible in the interface.

Because the positioning of the light reading version is Lite, its characteristics are light, fast and focused, so it has the following characteristics:

The design of the options page is also simple and restrained, but simplicity does not mean simplicity. Some people still need to adjust their settings, so they have made the following design: (with simple configuration items+explanation scheme)

Finally, I hope Apple Safari/Microsoft Edge and other users who support user scripts will like Jane Yue Light Reading Edition!

Since Jian Yue now supports most mainstream browsers, official website, which corresponds to Jian Yue, has also been slightly updated.

The next version of 1. 1. 1 will mainly solve the following problems:

Jane Yue has been operating as a product since its initial design. In addition, based on my status as an independent developer, Jian Yue will continue from any angle, so potential users who are "worried that the free service won't last long" can rest assured.

What will happen next in Jian Yue? At present, I have a preliminary intention. Because it is not very specific, I will buy a pass here first. Isn't this too dramatic?

In short, no matter what Jian Yue becomes, it will never forget its innovative spirit, and it will continue to provide users with:
