Secondly, in the left display area of the management window, use the mouse to expand the branch options of computer management/storage/disk management in turn. In the right display area corresponding to the branch option of disk management, we can clearly see the disk partition settings in the local system.
Select the target disk partition to be partitioned with the mouse, right-click the disk partition, and execute the "Compress Volume" command in the pop-up shortcut menu to enter the compression setting dialog box, as shown in Figure 2. From this dialog box, we can also intuitively see the disk space capacity that can be partitioned and the total capacity of the original disk partition. Enter the amount of disk space to be partitioned correctly in the "Enter the amount of compressed space" text box of the dialog box, and click the "Compress" button in the corresponding dialog box, and Windows Server 2008 will automatically compress and partition the original disk partition;
After the compression and partition operations are completed, the partitioned disk space capacity will be automatically displayed behind the original disk partition, and the corresponding partition options will also be prompted with "available space"; Click the "Available Space" disk partition with the right mouse button, and execute the "New Simple Volume" command in the pop-up right-click menu to open the creation wizard dialog box, as shown in Figure 3; In the Simple Volume Size text box of the dialog box, enter the space capacity of the new disk partition, but the value entered here must be between the maximum disk space and the minimum disk space;
