What does unix think of minimum installation?
When installing Linux operating system, it is a good habit to follow the principle of minimum installation, that is, don't install unnecessary or uncertain packages. Minimizing installation can slim down the system to a certain extent, but more importantly, it can improve the security of the system. Taking CentOS6.6 as an example, this paper explains the steps to minimize the installation of Linux operating system. I won't repeat the installation process before CentOS6.6' s package selection interface. Let's go directly to the package selection interface, as shown in the screenshot below:

After the installation, if you find that some package groups are not selected (of course, you may not have installed the system), you can use the yum group install“desktop "and" x window system "-y commands to install the package groups. After completing the above installation, there may still be some common packages not installed, so you can use yum to complete the installation as needed. For example, some commonly used installation packages: yum install lrz sztree nmap systat dos 2 UNIX-y and so on. If the system needs to update the patch, you can execute the yum update command. Unless you are absolutely sure, don't use Yum's software uninstall function, which may delete the relevant dependencies of the software and lead to unexpected situations.
