Vista system reduces the memory occupation of C disk
This is the VISTA system. VISTA will always update something, that is, your computer will always update itself every time it is turned off. But some old updates were left on the hard disk.

First, in-depth analysis, improve the solution.

1, hibernation file hiberfil.sys:

This file is a hidden system file in the root directory of drive C. The size of the hidden hiberfil.sys file is exactly the same as your own physical memory. When the computer goes into hibernation, Windows Vista will write all the memory contents into Hiberfil.sys file before shutting down the system. Then, when you turn on the computer again, the operating system uses Hiberfil.sys to put all the information back into the memory, and the computer returns to the state before it was turned off. But Windows Vista will not delete this file, but save it on the hard disk, which will take up some disk space in vain. With the sleep function, you can choose not to sleep, and everyone in the Vista House team turned off the hard drive. Take up space and read and write hard disk frequently. Assassin's t6 1 just added four G's.

Under Vista, the first way to safely delete hibernation files is to run cmd.exe as an administrator to open a command line window, and then run: powercfg -h off. Note that the hiberfil.sys hidden file left on drive C can be deleted directly after it is unhidden.

2. Virtual memory page file. sys:

Windows systems, including Vista, set the size of physical memory to 1.5 times by default and use it as a paging swap file. If you are a system-managed size, then this size will automatically change and often become larger and larger. If the physical memory is less, only 5 12m or 1g, you can choose to keep this file.

If you keep this file, we suggest that you put it in another partition instead of the C disk (system disk), otherwise you still need to delete it manually when making Ghost or other backups. It is suggested that the size must be specified, that is, 1.5 times the physical memory size of Ram.

If your memory is more than 2G, we suggest that you directly turn off the virtual memory function, and you will find that your entire Windows system is "flying".

Method of setting virtual memory: Click System in Control Panel-Classic View, click Advanced System Settings on the left, click the first setting (performance), and then click Advanced. In virtual memory, click Settings. See: /vista/559.html for screenshots and detailed methods. Please note that the hidden pagefile.sys file kept on the C drive can be deleted after being hidden.

3. The application cache brought by the 3.Superfetch function:

In Windows Vista system, the new technical features of Superfetch are used. See: Superfetch/Prefetch technology in Windows Vista, Vista optimization: teach you how to set up Vista startup pre-reading and application pre-reading.

Cleaning method: Just delete all files in the folder c:\windows\prefetch, or use one-click cclean in Vista Optimizer.

4. Temporary files generated by the application:

Generally stored in the windows\temp folder and the temp folder of the user folder.

Cleaning method: just delete all files in folders c:\windows\temp and C: \ Users \ Your User Name \ Appdata \ Local \ temp. Or delete system garbage with one click in Vista Optimizer.

5. Temporary files generated by browsers such as 5.IE:

Cleaning method: In the Internet option of the control panel, just delete cookie and ie temporary files. It is strongly recommended to use the one-click cleaning online tracking function in Vista Optimizer 2.0, especially before backing up the system.

6, system restore, system volume information folder:

The Chinese name of the system volume information folder can be translated as "system volume label information". This folder stores the backup information restored by the system.

"System Restore" is one of the most practical functions of Windows operating system. It records the state information of the system at a specific time in the form of "snapshot", that is, the so-called "restore point", and then recovers according to this information when necessary. There are two kinds of restore points: one is automatically created by the system, including system checkpoint and installation restore point; The other is created by users themselves according to their needs, which is also called manual restore point. With the increase of users' time using the system, there will be more and more restore points, resulting in less and less hard disk space, and finally they will be warned that "there is not enough disk space". It is also the most space-consuming file in the system disk. Over time, the file size can reach 4G, or even more!

7. A new backup of system files generated by sp1or a patch package for automatic upgrade.

Vista House (www.vista 123.com) suggests that this is not necessary. Better keep it.

8.Windows Vista system logs and event logs

Generally, it can be deleted directly in the LogFiles folder under the System32 folder of the Windows folder.

Second, automatically clear the garbage in the C disk space and expand the C disk space.

Delete batch files of system garbage:

@ Turn off echo

Echo Vista 123.com reports: cclean finished!

Echo. & stop

You can save the above code as cleantemp.bat and run it directly.

However, the above is far from enough, and it is not simple enough. Vista Optimizer has provided two shortcut buttons, one-click to clear system garbage and one-click to clear online traces, since version 2.0beta2, to help you get it!

Third, C disk space slimming weight loss

The above method solves the problem that the space of C drive is getting smaller and smaller, so there are still many useless files that we need to simplify, such as some help files, some ugly wallpapers that will never be used, video files that come with the system, and so on. Then, just use the Vista Slimming Master included with the Vista Optimizer.

In particular, the new version of slimming cleaner has completely deleted the system driver, so don't worry. Unless you are a system expert, we suggest that you save and drive related folders, so that you can lose 200m to 3 G, as shown in the following figure:
