1. Before the test, check whether the connecting wires of the test object, DC high voltage generator, voltage doubler, discharge rod, grounding wire and the test object are well connected, and check whether the grounding wire is connected correctly.

2. The high-voltage output wiring must be firm to prevent the high-voltage lead from falling off during the test, and direct discharge to the ground may damage the instrument.

4. Before the working power supply enters the tester, install two obvious disconnection points. When replacing the tested object and wiring, the disconnection point of the working power supply should be clearly defined first;

5. During the cable withstand voltage test, the step-up process should be smooth and slow, and the step-down process should be smooth and slow. At the same time, the high voltage output terminal should be protected by water resistance. Otherwise, the reverse voltage may damage the instrument.

6. The discharge of large-capacity test products should be carried out through the discharge resistor bar of100Ω/v. During the discharge, the discharge bar should not contact the test products immediately. The discharge rod should gradually approach the test product until a certain point. When the free discharge starts from the air gap, it will hiss. When there is no sound, you can use the grounding end of the electric rod to discharge, and then directly use the grounding wire to discharge;

7. When the DC high voltage of the DC high voltage generator is 200kV or above, although the tester wears insulating shoes and keeps away from a safe distance, due to the influence of the electric field distribution in the DC high voltage ion space, several adjacent standing belts will be affected. Have different DC potentials. Testers are not allowed to shake hands with each other or touch the grounding point with their hands, otherwise a slight electric shock will occur. This phenomenon is more obvious in dry areas and winter, but generally it will not cause harm to people because of low energy;

8. After the test, the measured object should be discharged several times with a discharge rod, and the measured object can only be approached for subsequent disassembly after being completely discharged.

9. The time interval between two tests (power failure time) should not be less than 5 minutes to ensure that the instrument can fully dissipate heat.
