Past south of the city is a collection of short stories by Lin, a famous female writer. The first edition number is 1960.
This book is an autobiographical short story, which depicts the childhood experience of the protagonist Xiaoying in southern Beijing in the 1920s in an unpretentious style, and shows us the old Beijing in the eyes of a child and the life of Beijingers in the early last century.
Lin (19 18 -200 1), formerly known as Lin, was born in Osaka, Japan, from Toufen Town, Miaoli County, Taiwan, and her ancestral home was Jiaoling, Guangdong Province.
Lin returned to Taiwan Province Province with his parents on 192 1. 1923 moved to Beijing with his parents and settled in the south of the city. 1948 returned to Taiwan Province Province to start literary creation. He used to be a reporter and editor of World Journal and presided over the supplement of United Daily News 10. He wrote many novels and short stories in his life. 1994, Lin was awarded the Honorary Award of Senior Chinese Writers by the World Chinese Writers Association and the Literature and Art Foundation of Asian Chinese Writers, and 1998 was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the World Chinese Writers Conference. His autobiographical novel Old Things in the South of the City 1999 won the second May 4th Prize "Literary Contribution Award" and the German version won the Swiss "Blue Cobra Award". The Pure Literature Publishing House she founded (1968- 1995) is the first professional literature publishing house in China, which has published many famous books.
