Nutritionist: My Way to Cultivate Diners
In front of some nonsense:

When I was invited to write this article in and out of class, the public dietitian had not cancelled. It may be a bit biased to post this article now, because I am lazy and will not make any changes to the article. Let me make a statement in advance to commemorate the cancellation of the public dietitian.

The following is the text.

Whenever I say "I am a nutritionist", I often encounter the following reactions:

"Really? ! What can I eat to lose weight? "

"That XXX (trade name) can eat? You give me a recipe ~ "

Whenever I encounter this kind of reaction, I will secretly sigh: "I knew this would happen ..."

Tell the truth, is the nutritionist really that versatile?

The broadest definition of dietitian: a person who has completed the training course of dietitian and obtained the recognized professional qualification. In Taiwan Province Province, there are nutritionists among the medical staff, who need to apply for a license from the health department. In the past, nutritionists were generally divided into two categories: public nutritionists and clinical nutritionists.

Public dietitians are professionals engaged in nutrition guidance, knowledge dissemination of nutrition and food safety, and promotion of public health. Clinical nutritionist is a professional who has been systematically trained by medical college to provide nutritional treatment for sub-health and acute and chronic patients. At present, the number of nutritionists in China is mainly male.

Is there a difference between the thresholds of these two types of nutritionists?

The answer is: yes, and the threshold difference is still a bit big.

In terms of difficulty, it is far less difficult to become a public dietitian than a clinical dietitian. The first requirement of a clinical dietitian is that you should be a medical student and have received formal training in the medical system. However, since the certification of public dietitians began in 2005, learners were not required to have a medical background or basic medical knowledge in the past, and gradually evolved into a paid certificate in some fields. In comparison, it seems quite easy to become a dietitian. But I believe that smart people must understand that having a certificate does not mean having real skills. If you want to be a nutritionist, even a seemingly relaxed dietitian, you must practice a set of necessary attributes before you can continue.

Being a nutritionist can be summarized by "five-finger magic", but don't mess up your talent!

The first finger: the basic attribute-eating skills.

As we all know, nutritionists mainly help people get a healthier state by "eating". If you don't know how to eat, how can you guide others? Therefore, the attribute of eating goods is very important! Please try all kinds of food, including some controversial and possibly disgusting things. As a Sichuanese, I grew up in the land of abundance, surrounded by delicious food, and I am half a chef. I also studied Chinese and western cooking, and I thought I had some experience in how to eat, hehe ~)

Why is "eating property" the most basic thing? Take chestnuts for example. Your consultant has iron deficiency anemia, and your suggestion is to increase the intake of lean meat from cattle and sheep in the diet. But the consultant thinks the takeaway is too greasy and wants to make it himself. When he asked you to cook (don't believe I really met ...), you got stuck. I think a crow will fly in the air, leaving six spots. This scene is not only embarrassing, but also you didn't play a good role in interfering with the consultant.

Moreover, in the process of work, you need to constantly deal with the two problems of "how to eat in the past" and "how to eat in the future". If you don't know much about "eating", please make up a collapse scene you may face:

"I ate bait last night." "Oh ..." (What is bait? )

"Could it be that I ate too much fried grass?" "It's also possible ..." (What the hell is a grass head! ? )

"can I still eat Acca sellowiana?" "Hmm ..." (Are you sure there is this kind of fruit? )

"I like soup very much, but it is always worthwhile to make fish soup." "Er ..." (You ask me, who do I ask ...)

……

In fact, when we were studying professional knowledge at school, we were "destroyed" by all kinds of food. Can you imagine there are two cream cakes for you to eat in front of you? In fact, one is real cream and the other is fake cream, so you can tell the truth from the false after tasting them separately. Anyway, after that class, someone had diarrhea for a week and kept walking against the wall. There is also the need to learn all kinds of cooking. If you are the apple of your eye at home, you will be miserable, because all the finished products need to be eaten by yourself. I once saw a girl eat her own fried steak and spit it out.

The second finger: natural attribute-memory

Public nutritionists, subject knowledge, science scores like stones, accounting for 35%, liberal arts scores like pulp, accounting for 65%. If you have a good foundation in science and know the knowledge in professional fields, there will be a buff bonus.

But if you simply want to understand, you can't be a good dietitian. After all, there are a lot of basic professional knowledge related to dieticians that you must memorize first, even by rote. For example, the definition of energy-supplying nutrients, its physiological significance and function, the functions and symptoms of various vitamins and minerals, and the ideas of nutritional intervention for different groups of people … all these need to exist in the depths of your mind, without any tricky channels.

The third finger: the attribute of gas field-draw inferences from one another.

In the past, I talked with many colleagues and interviewed many nutritionists, and found that quite a few people always stay in the stage of "dead reading", just putting the knowledge they have come into contact with in their minds and not using it. What's the use of asking you! )

Take chestnuts for example. About the physiological function of triglycerides, there is a description in professional books: "Save the use of protein and increase satiety". It's really useless if you just memorize this description and don't actually use it. If it can be combined with reality, it is the guidance for people who lose weight, reminding dieters to eat fat reasonably in their diet, which can reduce the loss of muscles, reduce the suffering of hunger, and easily harvest more scientific slimming effects. Therefore, only by transforming theoretical knowledge into such self-thinking can we have our own truly usable weapons.

The Fourth Finger: Addition Attribute-Refining Transformation

Hmm ... a good nutritionist, why not just say "fine points"? If you just want to answer the counselor's question, it's easy, but if you want to really help the counselor solve the problem, you must be schizophrenic every time you intervene and guide, and turn yourself into a counselor, so as to provide more valuable help. Today, when the word "user experience" is emphasized, it is difficult to really help the audience solve the problem if we can't think about why he asked such a question from the consultant's point of view and what kind of environment he may have caused. Nutrition intervention itself is slow to take effect. If you go too far in the guidance process, then the consultant will doubt your professionalism and then question the level of the dietitian industry.

Therefore, I was once dubbed by my colleagues as "a thousand women live in my heart" (ahem, it's not what you think! ), because every time I face different people's consultation, I always habitually imagine myself as a consultant, providing nutrition intervention guidance from their perspective, and ensuring that I can provide the most appropriate advice in the shortest time.

Fifth finger: Special attribute-sense of humor.

In any process of dealing with people, a sense of humor is worth making good use of. Holding chestnuts humorously can help laymen (that is, your consultants) easily understand what you want to express and make the intervention more effective.

For example, many little girls now believe in the saying "eat starch to gain meat" and think that they can avoid gaining meat without eating starch. Then the problem is coming. There are only three kinds of energy-supplying nutrients, carbohydrate (starch), protein and fat. If you eat only protein and fat instead of starch, you won't gain weight. It's like you don't want to spend money, so you never take your wallet when you go out, but use your mobile phone Alipay and credit card to brush it, and then tell yourself "I have no money".

Give me another chestnut. Some people always say that sitting down after exercise will make your ass bigger. If it is true, that would be great. Girls with small breasts should put their breasts on the stool after exercise. A good method of natural breast enhancement! (Looking up at the sky and sighing ...)

Now that we have mastered five attributes, let's continue.

Ability requires two and a half stars.

As I said before, it is not particularly difficult to take a public dietitian certification. You just need to memorize the basic knowledge. This is a small case for you who have been baptized by the college entrance examination, and the difficulty is less than one week.

However, if you want to master the "five-finger magic", your ability needs two and a half stars. In addition to the "five-finger magic", strong self-learning ability, information mining and integration ability, speech ability and marketing ability are all essential.

As a nutritionist, you need to constantly provide dietary guidance and intervention for the audience, constantly make recipes, constantly analyze different people's physical conditions, summarize this person's nutritional status according to different performances, and then make an intervention plan ... Sometimes you have to wear several hats, provide some appreciation services, become a psychological counselor, a chef, and a well-dressed person ... Overall, the ability requirement is two and a half stars.

Fatigue Samsung

Under normal circumstances, nutritionists basically don't need to come and go in the rain, and there will be no serious staying up late, so the degree of fatigue will not be too high.

But not all nutritionists do. As far as public dietitians are concerned, some of them can become community dietitians or work in shifts, and quite a few dietitians are doing other things, such as:

Sales of health products. Many people who apply for dietitians engage in the sales or shopping guide of some health care products after obtaining the certificate. On the one hand, they can better understand the functions of the products for introduction. On the other hand, it is easier to establish professionalism and give customers a sense of trust. But it's tiring, especially when you enter a store or supermarket, you may have to stand for a long time and have certain requirements for physical strength.

Fitness instructor. Some people who love sports will get a nutritionist's certificate, some just want to arrange their own training reasonably, and some are helping to be fitness instructors. Most fitness instructors in China are also hard-working, sometimes their schedules are irregular, and their working hours may often exceed 14 hours a day.

Others are engaged in catering software, WeChat business and enterprise training. After all, with people's attention to health, the way out for public nutritionists is becoming more and more diversified.

Mental stress Samsung

The work of public dietitians is repetitive, and it is necessary to endure loneliness to see prosperity, otherwise it is a maddening thing to cook recipes every day. Seemingly the same menu, each one actually needs to be slightly adjusted, which makes it easy for people to say, "Did I repeat this?"

Three stars of earning power

Write the first sentence! Although there are only three stars now, there is great potential! Public nutritionists used to want to make a lot of money from this industry, so they basically forget it. Even now, the monthly income level of public nutritionists in China is basically around 3~7k, which is not particularly high. If you have solid skills and rich experience, you can take the road of high salary.

However, with the increasing awareness of people's health, the future of the nutrition industry will become more and more "money". For example, through the way of self-media, focusing on spreading high-quality and reliable health and nutrition knowledge and helping more people get correct intervention, this is a very reliable channel for realizing cash; Doing professional corporate health training, that is, giving lectures, of course, the income is also considerable.

So, back to the beginning, this industry has great potential in the future.

The future of public nutritionists is worrying! Didn't you say that there is great potential in front, but here it is worrying? Don't tease)

As mentioned earlier, dietitians are divided into two categories, one is public dietitians and the other is clinical dietitians. From 2005 to 20 15, the public dietitian certification happened to be 10. However, since 20 15, Shanghai Jiaotong University has conducted the national registered dietitian pilot examination for the first time. Judging from the current pilot situation, only fresh medical college students can take the exam, and those who have graduated to work or have no medical school background cannot take the certification exam. In other words, the certification examination for public dietitians is restricted.

And until now, there is no voice about where the "public dietitian" will go, so I am not afraid to speculate with the worst result that the title of public dietitian may disappear in the long river of history, and the future dietitian will be replaced by a registered dietitian with stricter assessment. However, this may be a good thing, which can rectify the uneven situation of nutritionists in the past.

As a dietitian, you can weigh food visually or manually, and the error per100g is less than 2g. But it is true that family members hate going to the supermarket together, and friends hate eating together.

In the supermarket—

"Alas, the protein content of this milk is too low."

"This thing is a black-hearted business, and the ingredients list is in the wrong order."

"How could you? Look at the NRV of sodium is 63%. "

"How did this nutrition label come from ... alas, alas, wife, I was wrong. I shut up, don't choke! "

Looking back, my mind was full of ingredient lists and nutrition labels. Do you blame me? ! )

In the dining room—

"Order whatever you want. It's my treat today."

"Why did you order potatoes and sweet potatoes? There are too many kinds of cereal potatoes. "

"Hey, this vegetable oil is particularly high, or the sodium in pickled products is particularly high. Be careful of high blood pressure. "

"How do you order so many dishes but few dishes? Give me the menu, I want some. "

"Don't go ... I haven't finished ordering yet."
