The famous story of Li Shizhen called Little Yao Wang.
Li Shizhen, whose real name is Dongbi, was born in A.D. 15 18, and was born in qi zhou (now Qichun, Hubei), the capital of Huguang Huangzhou in the Ming Dynasty. The book Compendium of Materia Medica is called "King of Medicine".

In fact, the world-famous "China Wang Yao" was already called "Little Wang Yao" when he was about ten years old.

Li Shizhen, a small drug king, was born into a medical family. His grandfather is Dr. Bell. His father, Li Yanwen, not only inherited and developed his father's medical skills and ethics, but also was very proficient in herbal medicine. The prescriptions and herbs he prescribed are very effective in treating diseases. Under the influence of his grandfather and father, Li Shizhen liked reading medical books since he was a child.

At first, his mother taught him to read and recite poems. He never forgets anything, remembers quickly and loves learning. However, when he was three or four years old, his interest shifted to the names of Chinese herbal medicines. This is because his father goes to the mountains to collect all kinds of herbs every day in order to treat the people. When he came back, he wrote down the names and functions of herbs in his notebook. Whenever this happens, Xiaozhen will stand by curiously and fiddle with herbs from time to time. After that, every time my father came back from collecting herbs, he would ask what the name of this herb was, what the efficacy of that herb was, and even the picking and processing methods of various herbs. In this way, Li Shizhen accumulated a lot of medical knowledge.

One day when I was six years old, my father went out for medical treatment and didn't come back. It happened that on this day, a child named Bao Xiao in the village accidentally fell down and cried in pain. His family hurriedly asked Li Shizhen's father to treat him. When they heard that Dr. Li had gone out and had not returned, they immediately sent people everywhere to look for him in various villages, but they didn't get any information from Dr. Li. The whole family gathered around Bao Xiao, watching him cry his eyes out, and all of them shed tears.

At this time, Xiaozhen came running with her father's herbal notebook and said, "Don't be sad, uncles and aunts. I found a herb called Jing Tian Sanqi in my father's notebook, which is specially used to treat traumatic injuries. Unfortunately, there is none at home. I'll pick it now and wait! "

Bao Xiao's parents were naturally happy to hear this, so they asked again, "Son, do you know this medicine? Where to pick it? "

Xiaozhen ran out and replied, "Please rest assured, this is the medicine my father and I received last year!" "

When they heard this, they ran out.

When she was a child, Jane came to a hillside and climbed and looked for it.

People on the hillside kept reminding me: "Be careful, don't slide down and fall."

Xiaozhen also looked for it and replied, "Don't worry, it won't!"

Everyone was eagerly looking at Xiaozhen, when he suddenly stood up with a handful of grass in his hand and shouted happily to everyone, "I found the herbal medicine, and Bao Xiao can stop the pain."

Unexpectedly, at this moment, Jane lost her footing, fell to the ground and rolled down.

When she was a child, Jane suddenly fainted, with blood all over her face, hands and legs, but her hands still clung to the grass.

Childhood Jane was taken home.

After a while, Xiaozhen woke up. Everyone asked him, "Son, does it hurt?"

Xiaozhen didn't answer, jumped out of bed and ran to her father's pharmacy to crush herbs. Then she quickly ran to Bao Xiao's home and put the medicine on Bao Xiao's wound.

After a while, a miracle appeared and Bao Xiao stopped crying.

They immediately cheered, Bao Xiao's father suddenly picked up Xiao Zhen, lifted him in the air, loudly say:

"It's really gratifying, there is another little drug king in our village!"

1532, Li Shizhen was fourteen years old. He went to Huangzhou Prefecture to take the exam and won in one fell swoop, which can be described as a young man's success. Subsequently, he was selected to study in the county. However, during this period, Li Shizhen had no intention of official career, opposed stereotyped writing ideologically, and was even more disgusted with coping with scientific research. On the surface, although he is reading eight-part essay, his energy is concentrated on dabbling in medical works. Perhaps it is for this reason that Li Shizhen, at his father's urging, took part in the imperial examinations three times in a row, but all failed. If you can't win, you won't pass the threshold of being an official. Until now, his father, Li Yuan Cai Wen, gave up his desire to study and be an official, so he got his wish and let him study medicine wholeheartedly.

In the year when Li Shizhen abandoned his official position to become a doctor, his hometown was hit by a flood. After the water receded, the epidemic prevailed, and Li Shizhen and his son were busy treating the people day and night. Most of the people who came to see their father and son at that time were poor families. Their father and son always try their best to treat them carefully, regardless of their remuneration. People all praise Li and his son as good doctors for the poor.

After his twenties, Li Shizhen's medical skills became more and more profound, so he officially practiced medicine. Since then, while practicing medicine, he began to delve into China's ancient medical classics.

In medicine, he read everything from Huangdi Neijing and Treatise on Febrile Diseases to Four Great Classical Novels in Jin and Yuan Dynasties. In pharmacy, he has read Shennong's Classic of Materia Medica, and thinks that there are only 365 kinds of drugs recorded in the book. It is unrealistic to divide drugs into three categories according to their medicinal properties and efficacy. He has read Shen Nong's Notes on Materia Medica, and thinks that although this book was written by Tao Hongjing, a famous doctor in Qi Liang, the recorded drugs have doubled, but there are still some shortcomings. He also read Cao's "Herbal Medicine with Historical Evidence of Song Dynasty", and felt that although this book collected 1528 kinds of medicines, it was a great achievement of centralized pharmacy, but it was still incomplete. Because this book has been written for more than 400 years and a large number of new drugs have been discovered, he feels it necessary to supplement it. He also has some new understanding of the nature and efficacy of the original drug, and the classification of drugs needs to be greatly improved. Based on these thoughts, especially after accumulating more than ten years of practical experience in clinical syndrome differentiation and drug investigation, improving theoretical thinking ability and mastering scientific research methods, Li Shizhen resolutely decided to end his pure medical career in 1552 (at the age of 34) and began to write a new pharmacological monograph "Compendium of Materia Medica". After more than 20 years of hard work, it was finally finalized in 1578, when he was 60 years old. The book has 52 volumes, accounting for1.9000 words, collected 1.892 kinds of drugs, drew1.000 pictures of drugs, and attached1.000 prescriptions.

Compendium of Materia Medica has been translated into Japanese, English, French and other languages, and has become a classic work for studying medicine and pharmacy all over the world.
