Research and development technology of camping tent
Our army's new tent meets the needs of the whole territory.

Open the variant mode, and the two combinations can replace the five types of tents commonly used at present.

In the early winter of 20 14, a group of camping tents can not only be combined horizontally, but also be extended and lengthened vertically. 16 small tents for individual soldiers can be quickly assembled into a large tent that can meet the needs of the division's basic command post when needed. According to the leader of a research institute of the General Logistics Department, this type of tent has effectively solved the problems of the use, management and maintenance of different types of tents in different regions, and effectively improved the support efficiency of camping tents.

There are many kinds of tents in active service in our army, which are not universal and inconvenient to use, manage and maintain. The pole models and connection methods of various tents are not uniform, and the troops often "fall off the chain" at critical times because of the lack of supporting poles and other components. Moreover, in the past, our army's camping tents were all designed according to the principle of zoning, which was divided into two types of tents: hot zone and cold zone, single and cotton. With more and more cross-regional tasks carried out by the troops, the poor applicability of tent environment has also brought a lot of inconvenience to the troops' support and officers and men.

Camping tents are a necessity for marching and fighting, and must not be a short board that restricts the combat effectiveness of troops. The institute firmly establishes the standard of combat effectiveness, focuses on tackling key problems and unifying technologies, and benefits camping by enhancing the universality and expansibility of tents. The research group adopts modular frame design to make the tent size serialized and the parts standardized. The length and width of the tent can be expanded through various connection combinations, which meets the requirements of various use functions and use areas and greatly improves the universality of the tent. Accordingly, the two kinds of tents designed by the institute can replace five kinds of tents commonly used at present through combination, which basically meet the requirements of army command, camping and dining.

In order to further reduce the transportation pressure of the troops, the researchers of the institute are working hard to "reduce weight and increase efficiency" for tents. In order to solve the problem of poor cross-regional applicability caused by traditional zoning design, they adopted double-layer tent insulation design, which improved the environmental adaptability of this type of tent and met the needs of the army's global operations. At the same time, the skeleton is made of new high-strength composite materials, which not only enhances the stability against snow and wind, but also reduces its own weight, and the degree of "slimming" reaches 35%. In addition, the packaging design is tailored to the requirements of the Army's containerization maneuver. This new tent is more spacious, comfortable and easy to operate, which brings real convenience to camping training. It is reported that the unified tent has been finalized by the headquarters and will be installed in batches.
