Meizu flagship of 202 1 arrived much earlier than expected. Everyone should still have the impression that last year's Meizu 17 series was not officially listed until May, and at this time many manufacturers have begun to enter the second round of new product release cycle. However, on the whole, the result is good. Some time ago, the official publicly stated that the company still achieved profitability even if it was supported by only one flagship throughout the year.

When the mobile phone industry entered the era of giants, it actually lacked some persistence. Meizu is one of the few brands that has been walking at its own pace, and there is always an unspeakable "magic" in it. For many digital enthusiasts, perhaps not every Meizu mobile phone will "definitely support this time", but they will have different expectations for their new products, which seems to be naturally popular.

Not surprisingly, this year's Meizu flagship is called Meizu 18 series, including Meizu 18 and Meizu 18 Pro, all of which are equipped with the top platform of Snapdragon 888 in the current Android camp, which is probably the origin of the "double flagship" in the product definition. The protagonist of this article is Meizu 18 Pro, which is relatively larger.

Since the concept of full screen was popularized in mobile phone products, more and more people began to be "face blind". You will find it seems that all products have the same face on the front. Even a person like me who presses the phone every day, it is difficult to tell the specific model of the phone in front of me at the first time. But looking back at many mobile phone products in 2020, there are also some highly recognizable products, such as Meizu 17 Pro.

This is the white Meizu 17 Pro in my hand. As far as the full screen scheme is concerned, there is nothing special about it, and the hole-digging screen is also used. The difference is that on the basis of the straight screen, it has a certain margin for the width of the four sides, and with the "rare" pure white front panel, it is the one that I think has the best positive impression among all mobile phones last year.

Look back at Meizu 18 Pro. Obviously, this generation of products did not follow the previous logic, but moved the opening to the middle of the screen and changed it to a more mainstream curved screen. Two generations of flagships put together, 18 Pro looks slender and exquisite. For this change, you may feel that it lacks some so-called "personalization", but it is not too much to describe it with the word "good-looking".

The screen quality has also reached the top level, equipped with 6.7-inch Samsung Super AMOLED screen, E4 luminescent material, 2K+ resolution (3200 1440), 526ppi, local peak brightness up to 1300nit, and passed the HDR 10+ and SGS low blue light eye protection certification. In addition, Meizu 18 Pro also supports 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate.

In addition to the conventional parameters, there are several points worth mentioning. Meizu added ambient light and color temperature sensors at the top of the front of the fuselage, which can provide a brightness level of 4096, and the screen can be automatically adjusted to the most comfortable color temperature display according to the change of ambient light. Of course, some people adapt to the primary color display mode, others don't, so it's good for everyone to decide whether to turn it on according to their own preferences.

Screen fingerprints vary greatly. After the bright screen, you will find that the fingerprint position of this generation of products is obviously higher, and the advantage is that it is much more convenient to unlock with one hand. In addition, Meizu 18 Pro adopts a brand-new ultrasonic screen fingerprint scheme in Qualcomm, which is the first time in domestic mobile phones. In actual use, both the unlocking speed and the recognition accuracy are excellent, and it can basically be "opened at one touch".

Turn over and look at the back of the fuselage. Meizu 18 Pro has three colors to choose from, namely, flying snow streamer, Milky Way Mystery and vast starry sky. The actual color effects correspond to white, silver and blue respectively. Coincidentally, the version of flying snow streamer we got this time is similar to the version of Dingbai last year, so you can understand the difference between the two generations of Bai more intuitively.

Of course, the most striking thing is the camera part. When Meizu 17 Pro is used, the rear camera is horizontally arranged. Due to many factors, the overall cutting area feels larger. In Meizu 18 Pro, it was changed to a more conventional rectangular design. However, due to the slender body, there will be no problem of touching the camera by mistake when using it. There is no need to worry about this.

It may not be easy to notice Meizu 18 Pro Flying Snow Streamer Edition, but if you put it together with Meizu 17 Pro White Edition, you will find that although the back covers of both products are white, the latter is actually more pure in white. The reason for this difference is also easy to explain, mainly because the fuselage material was changed from ceramic to glass.

With the change of materials, there is also a treatment process. Meizu 18 Pro adopts AG etching process, which makes it feel extremely delicate. After adding it, the cover color is white, and anti-fingerprint coating is made. Even if it is not used in a box, the stain resistance is satisfactory enough. Details: Meizu did a good job this time. The bright metal middle frame and the metal decorative strip on the periphery of the camera enhance the exquisiteness of the product itself to some extent.

As a user of Meizu 17 Pro, the first feeling of holding Meizu 18 Pro in your hand is that the latter's holding performance is obviously better. For this generation of products, Meizu has made an all-round "slimming". Its fuselage length is 162.5 mm, and its width is 73 mm, probably because of the change of material, its weight has dropped to 189 g, which is 30 g lighter than the previous generation.

After the fuselage becomes thinner, lighter and narrower, it is more friendly to users with relatively small palms, and it will be much easier to hold it with one hand. However, in the actual use process, we also found that Meizu 18 Pro can't completely avoid the common problem of touching curved screens by mistake, but fortunately it won't cause too much trouble to daily use.

Meizu 18 Pro front camera has 44 million pixels, aperture is F2.4, and sensor model is Samsung GH 1, which supports AI ultra-clear selfie, front super night view and face unlocking. However, unlike other domestic mobile phones, its front does not support portrait mode. More interestingly, Meizu 17 Pro power display appears in this generation of products in the form of small circles on the information screen.

There are many elements in the rear camera, among which the main camera has 50 million pixels and the aperture is F 1.9. Samsung GN 1 sensor, outsole11.3 inches, supports optical image stabilization. Super wide-angle lens with 32 million pixels, F2.2 aperture and Sony IMX6 16 sensor, the field of vision has reached an exaggerated130; The telephoto lens has 8 million pixels and an aperture of F2.4, which supports 3 times optical zoom and up to 30 times digital zoom.

In addition to the three conventional lenses, Meizu 18 Pro also retains the iconic ring flash of Meizu mobile phone and adds a 3D depth detector to further improve the focusing speed when shooting at night. However, because I got the machine earlier, I feel that the focusing function is not online, and I will join it through OTA later. The following is a real shot sample, without any post-processing:

On Meizu 18 Pro, Meizu has equipped it with a set of "pure fusion" algorithms, including DarkVision Extreme Night Scene, Super Night Scene 4.0, Super Night Scene Video, AI Super Clear Portrait and Natural Beauty. As far as the actual proofs are concerned, the ultra-wide angle mode is consistent with the data, and the viewing angle is very wide. In addition, the picture effect in night mode is also great, and the dark details are preserved and the highlight suppression is ideal.

In the process of shooting, we found a function called "immersive preview" in its camera interface, which supports both photo and video modes. In the photo mode, after this function is turned on, all icons in the camera frame except the photo button will be hidden, and even the photo button will be displayed in a hollow form, so as to preserve the integrity of the preview as much as possible.

The recording mode is slightly different, and the shooting button keeps the same solid red icon as the normal mode, presumably to let users know more about the current working mode of the camera. The on/off operation of this function is also relatively simple. After selecting "Immersive Preview" in the setting interface, double-click the screen, which is quite practical.

The core hardware configuration may be the least suspenseful part. At the beginning of the article, we also mentioned that Meizu 18 Pro is equipped with Snapdragon 888 chip, which provides 8GB+ 128GB, 8GB+256GB and 12GB+ in cooperation with the recently appeared full blood version of LPDDR5 running memory and UFS3. 1 body storage.

Snapdragon 888+ Full Blood Edition LPDDR5+UFS3. 1, the core hardware combination, which will not be described here. Meizu 18 Pro Ann Bunny actually scored 727380, and Master Lu 8600 16. It is worth mentioning that it is equipped with the brand-new OneMind 5.0, and specially added the OneMind 888 special tuning module for the super-large core of Snapdragon 888 to balance performance and endurance performance.

By the way, battery life. Its battery capacity is 4500mAh, which is consistent with the previous generation. The fast charging scheme is upgraded from 30W wired +27W wireless to 40W wired +40W wireless, and it takes about 55 minutes to charge with a wired charger. In addition, it also supports QC4+ and PD3.0 protocols, that is, it can use the PD charger of notebook or tablet computer to realize fast charging.

However, this time, neither Meizu 18 Pro nor Meizu 18 attached a charging head to the box. In fact, we discussed this measure in the earlier Xiaomi 1 1 evaluation article, which is meaningful in the long run. After all, environmental protection needs more manufacturers to join in and jointly promote it. From the user's point of view, everyone may have more than one charger at home, and it is not a big problem to use multiple devices.

Talking about Meizu mobile phone, Flyme is certainly an important part that cannot be ignored. Since Meizu held a press conference for the brand-new Flyme 9 the day before the mobile phone conference, everyone should have got a general understanding of it through various channels. Here we choose a few more important points.

First of all, starting from Flyme 9, all Meizu mobile phones will no longer be pre-installed with any third-party applications, and the system will be streamlined with its own applications; In addition, from now on, there will be no more advertisements implanted in the applications that come with the system. Notifications of system applications and all third-party applications are turned off by default, and users can manually authorize opening according to their own needs. After completing the setup steps, they feel very "clean" after entering the mobile phone interface.

In other respects, Flyme 9 optimizes the design of Alive Design and brings a brand-new small window mode 3.0, which makes Aicy more intelligent and further emphasizes privacy protection. What I like better is actually its interactive logic. Meizu combines full-screen gestures with mBack, which can take into account the advantages of both. For the old users of Meizu mobile phone, this is the best interaction scheme at present.

In addition to what we mentioned above, the well-received points of Meizu's previous generations of mobile phones have been inherited without exception. For example, Meizu 18 Pro also has a horizontal linear motor, which matches the brand-new mEngine 4.0 tactile engine. The official said that its vibration amplitude increased by 30%, and the actual vibration feedback was very crisp, which greatly improved the "texture" of the mobile phone.

Meizu 18 Pro has not fallen behind in almost all configurations you can think of, such as multi-function NFC, a new generation of dual superlinear speakers, Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E connection, and it is almost impossible to find anything wrong. Comprehensive and top-level hardware configuration, with the cleanest Flyme 9 system among domestic brands at present, we think it is not inferior to any competing products at the same level.

If Meizu's mobile phone has always felt something missing for various reasons in the past few years, then everything has returned to the familiar "appearance" on this generation of flagship, and this company has indeed become more mature. Sales-related, 8GB+ 128GB Meizu 18 Pro is 4999 yuan, 8GB+256GB is 5499 yuan, and 12GB+256GB is 5999 yuan.

Finally, a preview is made, and the evaluation content of Meizu 18 is already being prepared. Although there is only the difference of "Pro" suffix between the two models, there are many differences in design and experience. From a certain point of view, I don't think there is a saying that the two are stronger or weaker. Interested friends can pay attention to geek choice (ID: geek choice).
