Weight loss index
Bo dy Mass Index is the abbreviation of Bodi mass index, which means "body mass index" in Chinese. It is calculated according to your height and weight. Body mass index (BMI) is an internationally recognized grading method for evaluating the degree of obesity, and the World Health Organization (WHO) also uses BMI to define obesity or overweight. The specific calculation method of body mass index is to divide the kilograms of weight by the square of height (in meters).

The formula is: body mass index (BMI) = weight (kg, kg)/height (m, m) squared.

Ideal weight (kg) = (18.5 ~ 23.9) × the square of height (unit m)

For example, a person's height is 1 .75m and his weight is 68kg, and his body mass index = 68/( 1.75 2) = 22.2 (kg/m 2). When the body mass index is 18.5 ~ 23.9, it is normal. B MI is an index closely related to the total body fat, which takes into account two factors: weight and height. Body mass index (BMI) is simple and practical, which can reflect the situation of overweight and obesity. It is more accurate to measure the risk of heart disease, hypertension and other diseases due to overweight than to identify them simply by weight.

However, it should be pointed out that not everyone applies the body mass index. For example:

1.1under 8 years old;

2. As an athlete;

3. I am doing weight training;

4. Pregnancy or breastfeeding;

5. frail or sedentary elderly people.

If you think that the calculated results of body mass index can't correctly reflect the weight problem, please discuss the results with your doctor and ask for a body fat test.

According to the standards set by the World Health Organization, Asians whose body mass index is higher than 22.9 are overweight. Asians and Europeans and Americans belong to different races, and WHO standards are not suitable for China people. Therefore, China reference standards have been formulated: body mass index classification, WHO standards, Asian standards, China reference standards, and related disease risk sheets.
