HKUST has two campuses. The old campus is Hexi campus and the new campus is TEDA campus.
Hexi Campus:
The location is close to the urban area, in Hexi District, Tianjin, close to the subway station, but basically now freshmen will go to the new campus in the first year, and some students will move back to the old campus after their sophomore year. The old campus has a strong humanistic atmosphere, because it has a long history and feels like a university. But the accommodation is not good, almost all bunk beds. It is said that the best building is Building No.9, which has a bed on it and a table under it (because I am a student of TEDA, I don't know much about Hexi dormitory ~ ~).
TEDA campus:
I just said that all freshmen are here, in Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone. To tell the truth, when I first came to report, I hardly felt depressed. I feel too biased. It takes nearly two hours to get to downtown binjiang road, and the amount is very painful. The accommodation in the new campus is slightly better. However, there are six people in the dormitory. There is no air conditioning, a separate bathroom, but you can't take a shower, and there is an outer balcony. The school is still under construction, but the humanistic atmosphere is not very strong, the campus is very neat, and you will never get lost.
Teacher, I am a liberal arts major at the University of Science and Technology. The teachers are very kind and nice, but I'm just a sophomore at school, so I can't comment on anything. Our teachers are ok, but in science schools, learning liberal arts is also quite depressing.
I hope my answer is helpful to you ~ ~
