Living in mountainous or hilly areas with an altitude of 100 ~ 1300m, but mostly distributed in valleys, rocks, fallen leaves or grass near streams with an altitude of 300 ~ 800m.

Weeds appear in crevices under waterfalls, weeds on the roadside, tea gardens, corn fields, rice fields, and sometimes climb into mountain houses.

Caves are mostly near the roots of mountain forests. They are omnivorous snakes, feeding on frogs, rats, birds and lizards, and have obvious snake-eating habits.

It is a kind of morning snake, which mainly moves in the morning and evening. High humidity requirements, frequent activities at night and rainy days.

The spawning period is from August to September, and the spawning amount is 1 1 ~ 29. Female snakes have the habit of protecting eggs, the incubation period is 26 ~ 30 days, and the number of eggs hatched is 1 1 ~ 29.

After a week of incubation, the young snake can secrete a certain amount of venom and will instinctively attack and bite.

This kind of snake is a famous one unique to China, and it is the most precious one. It is produced in Qichun, Hubei, and distributed in Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian, Taiwan Province, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou and Sichuan.
