Reading Tao Te Ching's Calligraphy Collection
At the end of last year, I was fortunate enough to receive a sample of the same book "Calligraphy Collection of Tao Te Ching" edited by Wang Ping, a famous contemporary writer in China. It is no exaggeration to say that this book is what I have been looking forward to for a long time. I'm glad to hold it in my hand. Really enjoyed it.

Why is a calligraphy collection so fascinating? It should be said that it is related to the content, art and function it carries, and also to my familiarity with the editor-in-chief. But to really understand this book, we have to start with the literary value of Tao Te Ching, the artistic style of calligraphy works and Mr. Wang's pursuit of life.

Tao Te Ching is a philosophical work of Laozi in the Spring and Autumn Period, a work before the separation of pre-Qin philosophers in ancient China, and an important source of Taoist philosophy. It takes "virtue" in the philosophical sense as the key link, and discusses the ways of self-cultivation, governing the country, using troops and keeping in good health. Mostly political, the so-called "sage inside and king outside". With profound meaning and wide coverage, it is known as the king of all classics, and it is one of the greatest masterpieces in the history of China, which has had a far-reaching impact on traditional philosophy, science, politics and religion. Sima Qian's Historical Records gave the highest evaluation to Taoism when he talked about China's six Yuan Dian cultures: Yin and Yang, Confucianism, Mohism, Ming, Fa and Morality.

Calligraphy is an important part of Chinese civilization and a unique traditional Chinese character art in China. Writing classics in contemporary calligraphy is a craze. While writing classics, it is also the characteristic and charm of Chinese excellent traditional culture to enlarge the classics. Zhang Shuo Wen said: "A few words in a text, a few words in meaning, a word in a book and a few words in meaning can be described as simple." The works written by a calligrapher reflect his personality, passion, rational understanding and sentiment; A group of calligraphers, with diverse styles, constitute an organic whole and an art collection. In addition, the contrast between calligraphy image and cultural classics will also form the characteristic effect of fusion, extension and collision, which will make people understand the writing meaning.

"In this special collection? The line-up of calligraphers is completely first-class, which is widely recognized and recognized by everyone, such as,,, Chen Jusuo,, Huang Junmao, He,, Cao Baolin, Nie Chengwen, Zhang Gaiqin, Bao Junyi, Zhang Xuguang and Xu Laiyi. And Wang Dan, Wang Dan, Wang Dan, Wang Dan, Wang Dan, Wang Dan, Wang Dan, Wang Dan, Wang Dan, Wang Dan and Wang Dan. Zhai, Bao Xianlun, Zhang Jianhui, Gao, Liu Hongyang, Fu Yacheng, etc. Sun Boxiang, Xie Yun, Yu Xu, Li Gangtian, Li Yuandong, Hu Limin, etc. As well as Shikai and Ceng Xiang, which are very influential in China. They are all outstanding in contemporary calligraphy, and they are brilliant. Together with the book Tao Te Ching, they can get a glimpse of the essence of contemporary calligraphy! "

The collection of works was published by Xilang Publishing House, with Chen Chuanxi, a famous critic and art educator in China, and Zhou Junjie, director of the China Book Association and deputy director of the Academic Committee of the Book Association, as prefaces respectively. Qiao Yuchuan, a famous painter, created the Enlightenment of Laozi. Calligraphy seal carvers Han Tianheng, Sun Weizu and Zheng Chaoyang seal-carved Nature, Good as Water and Lao Zi Fa, which show multiple expressions of emotional aesthetics, on the one hand, play an auxiliary role in rich artistry, on the other hand, they also explore ways for the interpretation of classics. The above discussion seems that I have studied Tao Te Ching and calligraphy, but it is not. I just extracted it from the preface and some notes of this book, but I am familiar with and understand Mr. Wang and his original intention of editing this collection.

Wang,No. Luzhu. Zhouzhi county, Shaanxi. Founder of Xi 'an Lanting Culture and Art Communication Company. We met in Kashgar, a border town when we were young. At that time, one was struggling with food and clothing, and the other was in a cultural depression. We love painting and calligraphy, attach importance to other people's feelings, make unremitting efforts and make continuous progress, which is one thing. So two people who are thousands of miles apart are talking and walking together, and the communication for more than 20 years has never stopped.

Knowing that he had a hard life and a hard start in his career as a teenager, Tao Te Ching, which was born in his hometown, subtly planted his unremitting efforts and his cultural ambitions. It is culture that makes him integrate into the artistic stream of people, broaden his horizons and lay the foundation for development. He was further encouraged to study Tao Te Ching, appreciate and collect China's calligraphy, painting and seal cutting, and was deeply influenced by his art, philosophy and thoughts. Inspired by the Preface to the Lanting Pavilion, a monument in history, he made a statement that "the most representative calligrapher in the contemporary era should be invited to write the Classic of Tao Te Ching, which will be integrated and handed down to the world", in order to pay tribute to the sages, classics, Chinese traditional culture and the cultivation of this land in his hometown. In other words, he is full of culture, cognitive culture, beneficial culture, grateful culture, feedback culture and deep cultivation culture. Since then, he has studied at Xi Academy of Fine Arts and School of Management of Xi Jiaotong University. He has planned many large-scale cultural activities and the painter's on-site creation and sketching practice. 20 10 edited the Tao Te Ching, The Hundred Books of China, and now edited the Collection of Contemporary China Famous Tao Te Ching Calligraphy, etc., and we can also get a glimpse of the whole picture.

During this period, I was deeply influenced by his philosophy of life and living conditions. Although I can't emulate it in my career, I have laid the foundation for appreciating calligraphy and painting in my hobbies. Especially with his help, I learned about the origin of Chang 'an Painting School and Loess Painting School, and got to know many painters and calligraphers represented by Mr. Qiao Yuchuan, which made me see the base rubbings of the Wangfa Tower in Xianyou Temple, Qiao Yuchuan's "Lao Zi's Enlightenment Map", Junxian Wei's "Persuading Birds", Gao Yongjun's calligraphy scroll "Diamond Sutra", Li Chenghai's calligraphy quadruple, and Zheng Chaoyang's seal cutting work "Bodhisattva Statue". So the meaning of this book to me is self-evident.

I also believe that the publication of this anthology is destined to be a gospel for those who love China's traditional culture, and will certainly contribute to the study of Tao Te Ching, the popularization of calligraphy art and even the construction and development of China's traditional culture.
