Brief introduction of Qiu Chuji Taoist priest
The profile of Taoist Qiu Chuji is as follows:

Qiu Chuji (1 148-1227) was born in Qixia, Dengzhou (present-day Shandong Province). He was a Taoist in the early Yuan Dynasty in the Jin Dynasty and one of the "Northern Seven Truths" of the Taoist Quanzhen School. At the age of 74, he was famous for going to the Western Regions to persuade Genghis Khan to stop killing and love the people. Qiu Chuji became a monk at the age of 65,438+09. The following year, it was very mysterious to worship Wang Zhongyang as a teacher and follow around. Together with Danyang Yu, Changzhenzi, Changsheng Chu Xuan, Yuyang Chuyi, Guangningzi and Jingjing, they are called "all true seven sons".

In the 22nd year of Yuan Taizu (1227), Qiu Chuji went out of Baoxuan Hall and was buried in Shuntang (now Beijing Baiyunguan Qiuzu Hall). In the sixth year of Yuan Dynasty (1269), Yuan Shizu presented a letter to the Bishop of Changchun as a real person. From Yuan Wuzong to junior year (13 10), he was named as "the real person of Changchun".

Qiu Chuji's achievements.

Qiu Chuji's meeting with Genghis Khan is an epoch-making event in the history of religion, with far-reaching significance. According to the records in Feng Xuan Celebration, Qiu Chuji's influence on Genghis Khan is mainly reflected in the following aspects: First, he publicized "eliminating violence and stopping killing", which alleviated the cruel killing policy of Mongolian rulers to the people in the conquered areas to some extent.

In view of Genghis Khan's desire to live a long life, Qiu Chuji asked him to combine the pursuit of "immortality" with doing good deeds, and advised Genghis Khan that the way to keep fit should be based on "strengthening the spirit inside and Xiu De outside". The spirit of internal cultivation is not to invade everywhere, and the spirit of external cultivation is to stop violent killing.

Genghis Khan's policy of ruling the Central Plains in his later period was moderate. Muqali, a Shandong official, and his successors took appeasement measures against local resistance, which was driven by many factors, but Qiu Chuji's theory of snow-capped mountains undoubtedly had an important impact. Since then, Qiu Chuji has continued to persuade General Meng Yuan to reduce the slaughter of the people. The second is to publicize the thought of saving the world and the people, which has made contributions to the recovery and development of social economy, the relief of the poor and the stability of social order in the Central Plains.
