How to read books efficiently?
Before 2065438+May 2006, I was a typical housewife. I went to work every day, fighting wits for a little kid and her husband and son. At the end of September, I received this form:

Reading record

After reading 33 books, what changes have I made in five months?

There are less than two months left in 20 16, and that's when I finished reading the book "Deep Reading". If you also have all kinds of situations of "I was five months ago", today, under the guidance of Saito, we sit down and talk about how to change ourselves through reading.

First, choose books.

To start reading, you must first choose a book. The first five-month book list shows that after a gradual process of "confusion-test-determination", I am still in a stage of constantly exploring new areas of reading. Personally, I feel that five months is not enough to define myself. Therefore, it is normal to start reading miscellaneous books and randomly choose books, which cannot be used as a reason for "I can't read". Many friends around me often refuse to pick up books for this reason. ) Only after reading several books completely can you know what you want to read. The more books you read, the more accurate your judgment will be. Takashi Saito, the author of Deep Reading, is a professor in the literature department of Meiji University. His decades of teaching and reading experience determines that the book selection method introduced in this book has high reference value in operability and effectiveness.

1, reliable list and book review. What is reliable? First of all, we should examine the professional experience of the publisher. The list mentioned in the book is native to Japan, but knowledge knows no borders. As long as there is no language problem, a large number of excellent books that I read deeply can be used as my reliable books. In contrast, the 33 books at the beginning of this article cannot be called "reliable" books list. Only after one's own knowledge system has formed a climate and can stably output relevant results can the recommendation list be worth following by beginners.

At the same time, the comments and recommendations of popular reading websites such as Douban and Amazon can also be used as a reliable basis for our book selection.

2, classic. There is no doubt that classics are always valuable wealth worth studying. The Analects of Confucius is mentioned more than once in the book, and the author quotes many quotations from Confucius, which are within reach. As an educated youth in China, I haven't read the Analects completely, let alone reached the level of quotation. Ashamed, I realized that many excellent works are based on classic ideas, and ignoring the classics is tantamount to giving up the foundation. In the book, beginners are especially advised to start with Japanese literature step by step. By analogy, we can go back to China's traditional classics. From the shallow to the deep, whether it is virtual or not, I believe it will lay a solid foundation for us and make great achievements in high-rise buildings.

3. Biography of celebrities. I remember reading many biographies when I was in middle school. Regardless of the writing level, the successful experience of celebrities and their attitudes and ways to deal with various challenges have deeply influenced my future life. Strange Life should be a biography that has appeared frequently recently. Compared with the works that only pay attention to the methodology of time management, it shows the readers the working style of Lyubyshev's life, which is vivid and lacks a lot of preaching. It is worthy of being an excellent introductory reading on time management.

4. Original film. There are more and more cases in which literary works are adapted into film and television dramas. The reason why words can be turned into images must be that the works have some outstanding characteristics, which attract the producers and can be used as the reason why we choose to read. In addition, there are cases in which novels that once swept the world were adapted. If it is the latter, we can read the original and appreciate its adaptation with a critical eye. We can not only see the characteristics and routines of the adaptation, but also get an interpretation of the original work from different angles. Why not?

5. Bookstore. It is estimated that many people will buy books directly online, and there is little experience of visiting physical bookstores. One of the great advantages of choosing books in a physical bookstore is that you can browse at will, not just the online trial reading part. If you are familiar with the boss, you can also refer to the opinions of the store to choose books. You know, the boss is immersed in books every day, and the amount of information about books is far from what we can compare.

Second, reading.

Y=f(x) is a common functional equation, which means that the variable X is output as the variable Y after a certain calculation process. In analogy reading, we input X and output Y after reading internalization. Then, because all the books we get are the same (X), the quality and effect of outputting Y only depend on the calculation process of F (reading).

1, read at the base and skip reading. Two reading methods in different subjects.

Basic reading refers to taking a book as an opportunity to continuously produce a chain reaction, thus broadening the breadth of reading. For example, the Analects of Confucius mentioned earlier, after all, is a long time apart. If you come up rashly, you will be easily defeated, generating a lot of negative energy and denying yourself. We might as well turn our attention to the explanatory works published by modern scholars on The Analects of Confucius, the recommended Tathagata of Confucius, and the Confucius-The Way of Being a Man by American Chinese professor Ni (all the recommended books are in Japanese, but there is no Chinese translation by visual inspection). On the one hand, the language is much easier to understand, on the other hand, reading from multiple angles can quickly open your eyes, which is also a process of learning from each other. Just like throwing a stone into the lake, the water waves gradually disperse. As long as we grasp a classic knowledge framework, we can bring out many works as useful supplements, thus quickly becoming a master in a certain field.

Skipping reading is a reading method introduced by the author for novels, that is, only reading the dialogue part. In the author's words, as long as we grasp the relationship between the first two characters, we can keep up with the main plot even if we skip the scene description part, and the speed will be increased by 3-5 times. I haven't tried this method. I'm going to try it next time I read a novel.

2. Read aloud. Remember the teaching methods of ancient private schools? Whether you understand it or not, it is self-evident to read it aloud after the teacher for 1000 times. Of course, now we don't study so rigidly, and we don't have the patience to read it thousands of times. But the truth is still worth learning and learning from. Reading has the meaning of making sounds, and what you hear with your ears is more likely to form an image in your brain, so that your spirit can naturally immerse and concentrate. So if the environment permits, I suggest you try the effect of reading aloud, which is really unique.

3. Organize the bookshelves. How do you put your books in your collection? I remember reading an article a few days ago, "I graduated from college for one year and bought more than 300 books." What did I buy? According to the theme, nationality and theme, the author collected 349 books he bought a year. When I see the neatly arranged spine and title in the article picture, I will unconsciously flash its content and theme in my mind, which coincides with Mr. Saito's method. The arrangement of bookshelves is actually the process of storing knowledge in the brain. The long holiday is coming, which is a good time for us to take action.

4. Ask questions and read. Finding problems is more difficult than solving them. If you can finish reading a book with problems, you will certainly gain much more than reading it through. As we all know, the problem is how to do it. Teacher Saito introduced a method. In reading, you use () to mark the places in doubt, not only the questions raised by the author, but also the parts that you think are "why" and "there should be a reason to say so". Therefore, we can understand how the author writes with problem consciousness, form the habit of thinking while asking questions, make the natural reading process dive deeper, and achieve the spiritual purity hidden in the water.

5. Express the output. Tell others about your unique reading experience, and sharing itself is a process of improving understanding. Recently, I made an online micro-lesson sharing, and I deeply felt that it was not effective to say and write down the knowledge. In the process of explanation, we should pay more attention to the oral expression of knowledge and reflect the theme logically and concisely. Don't turn into a chat, remember where to say it. In the attitude of being responsible to the listeners, try to convey more effective information in the shortest possible time. Instead of listening for an hour, looking back, it seems to be all clouds. We should read deeply and share deeply. When you can share the knowledge in your mind systematically, then our reading will achieve its proper purpose-growth!

Five months of reading made me realize the hardships and happiness of growing up. Anyone who knows me knows that reading for 2 hours after work is an impossible dream for me because I have a baby to take care of at home. Therefore, in these five months, I got up two hours early every day, went to the office first, and enjoyed the free reading time alone, thus ensuring a stable input-output record. Through reading, I found myself and reduced my confusion, especially when I felt my progress, I was more motivated to stick to it. If these 33 books have brought me anything, I can sum it up with a sentence in Deep Reading, that is, "You can't be an adult without reading". Even if we have left the campus, reading should still be our lifelong habit, which is really addictive.
