Sugarbeet growth habit

Beet is a thermophilic crop, and the suitable average temperature in the growing period should not be lower than 19, which has strong cold resistance and can resist cold in winter. If planted in soft soil with deep organic matter and applied with chemical fertilizer and manure, it will grow well.

Appearance characteristics of sugar beet

Beet stems are 1-2m high and leaves are 5-20cm long, with various shapes, mostly rectangular, heart-shaped or tongue-shaped. Leaves are sometimes wrinkled and sometimes smooth.

Growth environment conditions of sugar beet

Beets grow well in deep soft soil, and the effect of applying chemical fertilizer and organic fertilizer is better. It can tolerate high salinity soil, but it can't. I can't stand strong acid soil. At the same time, boron deficiency will inhibit its growth and black heart disease will appear in the roots.

Sugar beet growth process

The vegetative growth period of sugarbeet can be divided into four periods:

1, seedling stage

The time from emergence to root stripping of sugar beet is 30 days. At this time, the root tuber grows slowly, and the part with increased photosynthesis is used to form roots on the ground.

2. Growth period

At this stage, the roots on the ground grow rapidly, and 60% of photosynthetic nutrients are distributed to the leaves, which makes the sugar beet grow very fast.

3. Growth period

The time from monopoly to monopoly in the field is as long as 40 days, when the growth center of sugar beet shifts from the ground to the underground.

4. Cumulative period

This stage of beet is an important period for sugar production. At this stage, the sugar accumulated in beet root accounts for half of the total.

Key points of potted beet cultivation

1, temperature

Beet likes cool growth environment, has low temperature requirements and good cold resistance, and can overwinter outdoors in winter.

water

Beet leaves and branches have large areas, and water evaporates quickly in summer, so it needs to be watered frequently to supplement water consumption.

3. Lighting equipment

Beets need about 8 hours of light every day to have a good growth momentum, but the light should generally not exceed 15 hours.

Step 4 apply fertilizer

Plantar fertilizer should be applied before planting beet. Fertile soil is conducive to the growth of seedlings. The cultivation is mainly phosphorus fertilizer, followed by topdressing in June every year, mainly nitrogen fertilizer, and urea can also be applied.
