Sleep has a "golden line"
Some people sleep six hours a day is enough, and some people sleep 10 hours a day and still feel sleepy. So a few hours a day is enough? Regarding this problem, Shi Ming of Shanghai Chinese Medicine Insomnia Medical Cooperation Center thinks that although the amount of sleep time is related to age, there is still a "golden line", that is, 6-7 hours of sleep time should be guaranteed every day.
In fact, all kinds of people have different requirements for sleep. Generally speaking, people aged 10- 18 need 8 hours of sleep every day, people aged 18-50 need 7 hours of sleep every day, and people aged 50-70 need 5-6 hours of sleep every day. But this is not absolute, it depends on how full of energy you wake up the next day. Clinical experiments have also proved that if you can't guarantee 6-7 hours of sleep every day for a long time, it is easy to cause insomnia.
There are many reasons for insomnia.
There are many reasons and factors that cause insomnia, and different types of insomnia have different reasons. Illness, bad sleep habits, shift work day and night, anxiety and major changes in personal and family life will all lead to poor sleep quality. Generally speaking, the most common and unbearable symptom is difficulty in falling asleep, and waking up early and intermittently during sleep is also the most annoying symptom for patients.
● Transient insomnia
The reason is often tension or sudden changes in the environment. In this case, insomnia is a secondary rather than primary sleep disorder. Factors that aggravate this kind of insomnia include: environmental stress, unfamiliar sleeping environment (such as vacation and travel), acute diseases (such as allergies, diseases accompanied by fever and pain), shift work, taking alcohol or nicotine, etc. Some drugs can also induce insomnia, such as the acute side effects of corticosteroids.
Patients with transient insomnia can often point out the reasons for their insomnia. They generally don't go to see a doctor unless insomnia recurs.
Low short-term insomnia
Causes are more serious than transient insomnia, including the death of a loved one, emotional trauma, hospitalization or pain. The main stress factors include marriage, divorce, moving and long-term stress in the working environment.
Short-term insomnia patients see a doctor more than transient insomnia, and the treatment of such patients can be combined with sleep guidance and appropriate drug assistance.
● Chronic insomnia
Etiology generally includes physical factors and emotional factors, such as cardiovascular insufficiency, hyperthyroidism, asthma, Parkinson's disease and depression. Chronic insomnia may also be the result of long-term medication. Conditional anxiety related to sleep ability is often a factor that aggravates chronic insomnia.
Thorough physical examination and understanding of psychological development history are helpful to the diagnosis of chronic insomnia and can be targeted at the basic causes of insomnia.
Who can't sleep at night?
Don't think it's okay not to sleep, but it's actually a disease. According to the latest statistics, the incidence of insomnia in this city is on the rise. This year 1 month and February, the number of patients increased by 20% compared with the same period last year. According to incomplete statistics, about 30% of adults in this city are insomnia patients.
According to the Morning News, statistics also show that people aged 38 to 52 have the highest incidence of insomnia, of which women account for 62%. This part of insomnia patients have a big misunderstanding, that is, taking medicine indiscriminately. Clinically, many insomnia patients only want to see a doctor after taking their own medicine.
Jian Xu, deputy director of Shanghai Chinese Medicine Insomnia Medical Cooperation Center, reminded that insomnia is caused by different reasons, most of which are mental factors. Only by going to the hospital can doctors prescribe the right medicine according to different causes. The abuse of diazepam and other drugs can easily lead to human dependence on drugs.
Some experts also believe that insomnia is a psychosomatic disease, and only through psychological and physiological comprehensive treatment and self-regulation can we achieve the goal of rehabilitation.
