First, prepare bottom sand.
If you want to reproduce the growing environment of loach in nature, you need to lay about 5 cm of soil or fine sand on the bottom of the fish tank. The loach was originally hidden in the mud at the bottom of the water. Although mud is their favorite, if the fish tank is covered with 5 cm of mud, these little guys will be hard to find once they hide in it, and they will lose their ornamental value. So it is best to choose the fine sand by the river. Fortunately, these differences have little influence on the daily life of loach.
The feeding characteristic of loach is to swallow the bait together with the gravel in the mouth, and then take the gravel out of the gills alone. From this point of view, river sand is more suitable. In addition, in winter, loach also needs to dive into the gravel and hibernate with cold water.
When choosing river sand, we should pay attention to those small sand without edges and corners. Too sharp edges and corners are easy to scratch loach or other fish.
Second, choose a bigger fish tank.
It is recommended to choose a large tank with a length of 45cm * (height) * 30cm * 30cm (width). A fish tank of this size can raise about 10 loaches. Considering the length of adult loach 10~ 15 cm, it is not suitable for small tank feeding. In addition, it is suggested that the fish tank should be placed in a bright place as far as possible. If it is direct sunlight, pay attention to control the water temperature. In addition, the loach has poor cold tolerance, so it is necessary to pay attention to the low water temperature in winter, otherwise it is easy to hibernate. The best way is to put them in a sunny place indoors and control the water temperature not to be too low. The water temperature should be controlled at 27~3 1 degree in summer and 7 7~ 10/degree in winter.
Third, the fish tank needs to be covered.
Misgurnus anguillicaudatus takes more exercise at night and has a slender body, so it is easy to escape from the gap in the fish tank. In addition, they are very sensitive to vibration and will jump out of the tank once they are frightened, so it is necessary to cover the fish tank. From this point of view, the deeper the fish tank, the better. If the fish tanks are more than 40 cm, they basically won't jump out.
Four, tap water to eliminate chlorine reuse
Like goldfish, tap water should be left for a day or two, or a few alum should be added to remove chlorine before use. After the water is dirty, it is necessary to change the water. The specific frequency of changing water depends on the number of loaches raised and the size of the fish tank, basically once every two months, and about two-thirds of the water can be changed.
5. Add oxygen pump and aquatic plants.
Aquatic plants have the function of purifying water quality and look beautiful. In addition, they can provide oxygen for fish tanks and help loach grow. Be sure to add oxygen pumps and aquatic plants. It should be noted that loach can easily raise the roots of aquatic plants when it moves in the bottom sand, so it is best to fix the roots with small stones or plant them directly in mini flowerpots when planting aquatic plants. Misgurnus anguillicaudatus not only breathes through its gills, but also puts its head on the water surface from time to time to inhale air directly through its mouth, and breathes through its intestines instead of its gills. In order to let them have enough breathing space, the number of aquatic plants should be controlled in the tank.
Sixth, it is an omnivore.
Misgurnus anguillicaudatus is an omnivore. It eats almost anything, such as Daphnia and algae. If you make your own bait at home, you can give them some tofu, bran and the like. Anyone who sells bait in the market can eat goldfish, herring and eel. If it is mixed with other fish, it is best to put some sunken food. Misgurnus anguillicaudatus eats a lot and has a good reputation as an excellent cleaner.
Seven, loach breeding
The breeding of loach is very difficult, especially in the case of artificial breeding. However, it is not completely impossible. In order to induce spawning, they need to inject hormone drugs. Brave friends can challenge.
Generally speaking, the difficulty coefficient of raising loach is not high, and goldfish can be used to raise loach, which can help remove the bait residue at the bottom of the water.
