Huaihua is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Hunan Province, also known as he cheng and Wuxi, located in the west of Hunan Province, in the middle and lower reaches of Yuanjiang River. Shantou Ancient Dong Village was built in Hongwu period of Ming Dynasty 1368. Covering an area of about 18.29 hectares, it is a pure Dong thatched cottage, a well-preserved ancient residential complex in China and a "physical museum" of Dong folk houses.
