Cultural relics in Dagang town
The streets and lanes of Dagang ancient town crisscross, and there are many back streets and lanes besides the main street. There are Wanxingli, Li Taiping, Boxianli and Jingdeli in the East Street. There are Shuangshili, Li Zhonghe, Zhongtongli, Xipingli and Yingshanli in West Street, and there are also dragons, Yujialong, Crab Lane and Shajia Street. There are rest pavilions at every intersection, and the most impressive ones are the "Xilaimen" at the west entrance and the "Shed Crossing" at the northwest entrance (leading to the riverside pier). There are several large bays, the road passes through the middle of the house, and there are long benches on both sides. The house is spacious and can accommodate more than a dozen unicycles. There are colorful murals painted on the surrounding walls. On the one hand, there are positive publicity stories, such as Sanniang's adopted son, Kong Rong's pears, the seal of the Virgin, Jinshi and so on. On the one hand, it is a shocking picture of what goes around comes around, such as the trial scene in Yamaraja, such as caesarean section, peeling and cramping, and going up and down the mountain to fry oil.

At the beginning of the last century, someone commented: "My city is called a noble family, just like Zhao in Dagang." There are as many as 109 households in Dagang, and each household has a "hall number". Zhao's family name is the same, and they usually live in the same family, often for several generations, resulting in a large number of deep houses in Dagang ancient town, which is rare in rural areas in the south of the Yangtze River. A building with a hall number has at least three entrances and at most nine entrances. Generally, there are three bedrooms, five bedrooms, seven bedrooms, patios, wings, buildings, some gardens, and some are arranged side by side. There are alleys and walkways in the middle, which seems endless. In addition to these old houses of Zhao, there are also famous mansions in the ancient town, such as Bamen and Shijia, the former residence of Leng Guogong, and the courtyard (security door). "Eight Gates" are iron gates, bamboo gates, brick gates, flagpole gates, gossip gates, ingot gates and bull gates. There are still four flagpoles in front of the flagpole, and there are "ninety-nine and a half rooms" in the door with Jingdetang. The "Eight Doors" are large in scale, exquisite in architecture and unique in shape. Brick carving, stone carving and wood carving can be seen everywhere. Later, some houses were in disrepair, which turned out to be an excellent maze for children to hide and seek.

Along with the "Eight Gates", there is also a stone railing gate, which is located by the Dagang River in the northwest of Qingshiqiao. The gate sits west facing east, and the courtyard of the gatehouse is beautifully carved with stone. Later, the house was burned down by Taiping rebels, and the tall and spacious hall became an empty yard. The walls around are all red ochre, and the broken floor tiles and broken carved pillars on the ground still seem to show their former luxury. The old house has several entrances, and the rest of the day is only a lonely building and some wings. The fate of the stone balustrade door is a microcosm of the "Mao rebellion" suffered by many old houses in Dagang.

In addition, the original Dafeng ancient house, which later became the office area of Dagang Supply and Marketing Cooperative, is also very distinctive. The iron rivet door runs through the north and south, with the Happy Horse Building in the middle, which is connected with the building, followed by the big garden and the pavilion on the balcony, which is very spectacular (it was changed to the sauce garden processing zone after liberation). There is also a western-style building in the west of the town-Jizhou Garden (later changed to primary school and hospital). The whole building is western-style from building materials to style, and even the garden is quite foreign, which opened the eyes of Dagang people at that time. It is said that the owner of the house has a foreign background and a strong knowledge of western learning.
