How to keep healthy stone flowers? Breeding method and matters needing attention of original stone flower
Lithospermum, also known as "living stone", is a succulent plant of Lithospermum in Dianthus family, native to Africa. Its small and lovely appearance, peculiar shape, gorgeous colors and high appreciation value have won people's love. So, do you know how to cultivate the original stone flowers to make them more energetic? Come and have a look with Uncle Gardener! 1. Earth-rock flowers have low requirements on soil and are suitable for planting in loose and breathable neutral soil. Usually, 4 parts of humus soil, 3 parts of calcareous material and 3 parts of river sand are mixed evenly, and the soil is often loosened to maintain the air permeability of the roots. 2. Change pots. We usually choose to change the original stone flower in autumn. When changing pots, we need to take the plants out of the soil. Pay attention to handle with care, and try not to hurt the capillary root. Then cut off the rotten and dry old roots and choose new culture soil for planting. 3. When applying fertilizer, we usually choose the peeling season of stone flowers, and we use compound fertilizer for topdressing to promote the healthy growth of seedlings. 4. The watered stone flower has strong drought tolerance. When watering, follow the principle of "thoroughly watering if you don't do it". But be careful not to water when the temperature is too high in summer, so as not to damage the roots of plants because of the excessive temperature difference between day and night. In spring, stone flowers are in the molting stage. In the meantime, we need to stop fertilizing and control watering properly. In the usual maintenance process, we should also pay attention to avoid the pot soil being in a humid environment for a long time, because it is easy to grow moss in the pot. 5. The suitable temperature for anemone growth is 15 to 32℃. If the temperature is too high in summer, Shi Lian will go into hibernation, and it is not cold-resistant in winter. So we need to keep the temperature above 10 degrees when breeding in winter. It is suggested that the soil at the original root must be shaken off when changing the pot of raw stone flowers, and the capillary root should not be hurt when shaking off. It is not recommended to peel off the original stone flower when it enters the molting stage, which may cause damage to the original stone flower and let it fall off freely. The soil for cultivating stone flowers must be breathable, and the maintained environment should be kept ventilated. In hot summer, stone flowers should not be moved at will, so as not to change the environment!
