Square without cutting, sincere without jealousy, straight without arrogance, broad without arrogance, moral and civilized, not complaining about others; Tao taught himself, didn't complain about others, and was easily rewarded. Cultivate one's morality with the Tao, and die without a disease. Huang Can in Xia Houshi cannot be perfect; The pearl of the bright moon must be clean. However, those who are precious in the world do not hinder great beauty with small evils. Today, it is difficult to focus on people's shortcomings and forget their advantages, but it is difficult to aspire to be a sage in the world. I don't know the general meaning of inferiority in position, inferiority in body and insult in things. Therefore, on the road of people: observe what you do, observe what you do when you are rich, observe what you suffer when you are poor, and observe what you do when you are cheap; Look at their troubles and know their courage; Move and watch with joy; Entrust goods to see their benevolence; Trembling in fear to celebrate its festival. Only in this way can we reap the favor.
Laozi [Wen Zi] said: those who bend seek truth, those who waste seek straightness; Flexing an inch and applying a ruler, small waste and big straight, what a gentleman does. A hundred rivers flow together, and those who don't pay attention to the sea are not valleys; He who does not belong to the good is not a gentleman. Good words are more expensive than feasibility, and good deeds are more expensive than loyalty. The fault of a gentleman touches the sun and the moon alone; It is harmless to Ming, so the wise don't do it, the brave don't kill it indiscriminately, choose its goodness and do it with courtesy. The story is successful and full of merits, and it is famous for its death; Although smart, we must stand on the basis of benevolence and righteousness. Wisdom goes hand in hand, and saints take benevolence and righteousness as the criterion. Those who are trapped by a rope are called gentlemen, and those who are not trapped by a rope are called villains. Although a gentleman dies, his name will last forever; Although the villain is in power, his crime has not been removed. Press the map of the world with your left hand and lick your throat with your right hand. Although a fool does not do it, his body is more expensive than the world. When a loved one dies, righteousness is more important than body. So the world is also beneficial, smaller than its body; The weight of the body is also lighter than righteousness. This is also based on benevolence and righteousness.
Laozi [Wen Zi] said: Moral preparation is still like the sun and the moon. It is impossible to change a person's mind. If you are interested in the same thing, you won't be praised in vulgarity. If your intentions and actions are poor, then you will succeed in this world. If you are suitable for that era, you will be famous. Therefore, those who make meritorious deeds are simple in the world, dedicated to the time, and cannot rest when the time comes. In ancient times, people who used soldiers were greedy for wealth rather than land, and they would exterminate chaos and insects for the people. People who are insatiable and want to be hard to fill are thieves all over the world and all the people are in chaos. It is better to be here. Some saints flew into a rage, begged for violence, pacified troubled times, eliminated evil for the world, turned turbidity into clarity, and saved the day, so they had to be defeated. Chi Di is a fire, and the Yellow Emperor captures it; * * * Work is a water disaster, so Zhuan Xu punished it. Teach people to be Tao, guide people to be virtuous and not listen, that is, face them with power; If you don't follow, let it be a soldier. Killing the innocent and raising the unjust master is extremely harmful; It is not a deep disaster to gather the wealth of the world and raise people's desires; A person's desire, but the suffering in the long sea, this family does not bear. What you have done is to ban riots. Today, with the help of everyone, it is a thief and a tiger wing. What do you mean? Those fish farmers must look for their bats and otters; Animals, animals, get their wolves away, and herders will have a hard time! Therefore, the actions of the soldiers also began.
Lao Zi [Wen Zi] said: For the country, there are no harsh orders, no troubles of officials, no vain behavior of scholars, no obscenity of workers, no harassment of work, and no embellishment of tools. In troubled times, it is not. For walkers, it's high, for proprietors, it's fake, it's easy to carve cars, for users, it's hard for searchers to treat it as a treasure, and it's hard for scoffers to take it seriously. This matter is sophistry and indecisive for a long time, which is not conducive to governance, but to chaos. It is amazing and useless. Therefore, Shennong Fa said: The husband is strong and does not plow, and there are hungry people in the world; When women didn't knit, there were still people in the world who suffered. Therefore, the body is cultivated and the wife knits, thinking that the world is the best. It guides the people, it is neither expensive nor rare, and it does not value useless things. Therefore, the tiller is not strong, there is no way to keep fit, the weaver is weak, there is no way to dress, and there are some shortcomings. Everyone belongs to himself, his clothes are generous, evil spirits are not born, he has nothing to worry about, the world is peaceful, the wise do nothing, and the brave do nothing.
Laozi [Wen Zi] said: To dominate Wang Zhidao is to seek for it, to seek for it, to move for it, and to have a purpose, not to survive, but to survive. Therefore, as soon as I heard about the king of an enemy country, there were people who abused him, that is, soldiers came to the scene, made accusations and stabbed him to death. When the soldiers arrived in its suburbs, the commander of the army said, "No trees were cut down, no graves were dug, no grain was destroyed, no people were burned and piled up, and no six livestock were gathered. So, he gave an order: "The king of his country despised heaven and earth, insulted ghosts and gods, condemned injustice in prison, killed people without guilt, and cursed the people with hatred." The soldier came and was awarded virtue by abolishing injustice. Anyone who dares to go against the sky and confuse the people will die. Give priority to home listeners, home listeners are paid, rural listeners are printed, and county listeners are given priority. "If the country is inferior to the people, it will abolish its politics, respect its scholars, show its virtue, shock its loneliness, sympathize with its poverty, go out of its prison, enjoy its merits, and the people will open accounts to save it, lest it come. As for the volunteers, stop without fighting; As for the unjust soldiers, as for the corpse blood, there is an intersection before. Therefore, those who compete for land cannot become their kings; People who pursue themselves can't make contributions. Help people who treat things as adults; Take yourself for yourself and everyone will go. What people move, though weak, must be strong; Wherever people go, though they are big, they will die.
