For a long time, the ladies-in-waiting complained because they couldn't sleep well. One of them, Yang Jinyu, was really fed up and was ready to resist. She assassinated Emperor Jiajing with several maids.
One night in June of A.D. 1542, namely 10, in the 45th year of Jiajing, a maid-in-waiting headed by Yang Jinyu came to the bedroom of Emperor Jiajing, swarmed him, held him down like a pig, and then put a rope around the neck of Emperor Jiajing, ready to strangle him. However, in a panic, the rope tied a fast knot and strangled him for a long time.
From then on, in order to happen again, from the late Ming Dynasty to the late Qing Dynasty, concubines waited on the emperor at night. In order to prevent carrying hidden weapons, they had to take off their clothes and send them to the emperor's dragon bed. It was this experience and lesson learned by Emperor Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty that the Qing Dynasty formulated a unique sleep system.
