Poetry describing abstinence
There are few poems about "abstinence from alcohol", only one is known, as follows:

give up drinking

Tao Yuanming in Wei and Jin Dynasties

Stay in the second city and enjoy it. Sit in the shade and step into the gate.

Good taste prevents sunflowers in the garden, but good taste prevents children. Life is more than wine, and there is no joy in abstinence.

I can't sleep at dusk and can't get up in the morning. If you stop it day after day, the camp guards will not care.

Acts Zhi Zhi unhappy, unknown only selfish. It was good at first, but now it's really good.

From now on, it will stop Fusang. Qing Yan stopped appearing and Xi stopped worshipping.

Translation:

My family lives near the city and is very carefree. Sitting in the tall shade, walking only in Chai Men. The delicious taste is nothing more than sunflowers in the garden, and only young children are happy. I refuse to drink all my life. I will be bored without drinking.

If you don't drink at night, you won't sleep well, and if you don't drink in the morning, you will get up late. I want to stop drinking every day. If I stop the meridians of qi and blood, I will be weak. Abstinence from alcohol is not happy, but it is beneficial.

I'm beginning to think it's a good thing to give up drinking. I'm really insulated from alcohol today. Since then, it has stopped like this, and will stop at the water where the hibiscus tree grows. The clear face stays on the young face for more than 1000 years and 10000 years.

Extended data:

Tao Yuanming can quit his job and continue to be poor, but he can't stop drinking for a day. Drinking is the greatest hobby of his life. So it will be very painful for him to give up drinking. Tao Yuanming, on the other hand, used humorous language to explain his persistence in drinking and his intention to give up drinking. Every sentence in the poem uses the word "stop", which is very interesting to read and has a folk mood.

The main idea of this poem is not difficult to understand. Generally speaking, it is because drinking is harmful to your health and you should "give up drinking". However, it is really troublesome to explain the word "stop" in this poem. If all the words are interpreted as "stop" (warning), "sit in the shade and stop at the door. The four sentences "Good taste stops the sunflower in the garden, and great joy stops the child" don't make sense. "Stop" had another meaning in ancient times, that is, "stop at".

To put it bluntly, it means "stay", so "Yin Gao", "Xunmen", "Yuan Kui" and "Wanderer" are willing to stay here. But according to this meaning, the later explanation of "abstinence from alcohol" doesn't make sense Because "I am unhappy in Zhi Zhi, but I don't know how to be selfish", these two sentences obviously mean "I only know that abstinence is not refreshing, but I don't know that abstinence is good for me".

It seems that the word "stop" in this article has two meanings. In addition, this poem has a feature in form, and each sentence has a word "stop". Mr. Zhu Ziqing speculated that this institution already existed. Since it has existed for a long time, it should be handed down. But before Tao Yuanming wrote this poem, there were no examples handed down.

This is somewhat unconvincing for Zhu Ziqing's guess. In the Qing Dynasty, both Chen Ruoming and Wu Zhantai believed that this writing method of the same sentence was initiated by Tao Yuanming. Even as Zhu Ziqing said, Tao should be regarded as one of the early writers of this style. Of course, this writing has been carried forward by future generations. He Shuangqing, an unlucky talented woman in the Ming Dynasty, wrote a poem "Spring will come tomorrow to reward farmers", which is an extreme poem.
