The Grand Canal from Huai 'an to Yangzhou Street is the Huaiyang Canal. Huaiyang Canal, also known as Hangou Canal, Liyun Canal, Qushui, Hanjiang River, Zhongdushui and Shanyangdu, etc. In ancient times, it refers to the river section from Huai 'an City, Jiangsu Province (where the Grand Canal of China meets the ancient Huaihe River) to Yangzhou City (where the Grand Canal of China meets the Yangtze River), with a total length of 170 kilometers.

Huaiyang Canal is the earliest canal dug in China, which can be traced back to the Han ditch dug by Fu Cha, the king of Wu in 486 BC.

Led by the National Tourism Administration, the tourism departments of six provinces and cities participated in the formulation of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal Tourism Route Master Plan, and the Huaiyang Cultural Tourism Section became one of the six key routes in the plan.
