What is the significance of Buddhist abstinence for this era?
In this economic society, people's desires are growing. Greed, material desire and lust are silently devouring our lives.

"Book" said: "If you want more, you will lose your essence. People can cherish their lives, but unfortunately their bodies can be heavy and refined. " Neijing says: bleak and nothingness. The true qi followed. Mental internal defense. Sick and safe. Tian, Jing also. Lightweight and simple. It's nothing. Not covered by desire.

In the Ming Dynasty, there was a Four Essentials of Health Preservation in Wanmizhai. In this book, the lack of desire is first mentioned. "There are four ways to maintain health: one is no desire, the other is caution, the third is punctuality, and the fourth is illness."

Desire.

Eat drink man woman, what people want. You see, there are all kinds of pornographic films on the internet now, and many children begin to imitate them when they are underage. Without proper sex education, they lose their health early, have kidney deficiency, and the whole person looks listless. 30-year-old body, 60-year-old vitality. Color is a bone scraper. It has been worthwhile since ancient times. Fine feet can be properly drained, and fine damage must be maintained; If we don't control all kinds of diseases, we will find you.

Greedy.

Why are there so many people with stomach problems now, and there is a trend of youthfulness? It is even often heard that people in their thirties suffer from stomach cancer. What is even more frightening is that four or five-year-old children suffer from stomach cancer because they often eat snacks. People covet the delicious food, so they also give some unscrupulous businessmen an opportunity, regardless of human relations, just to satisfy people's pursuit of taste. In fact, delicious food is a sugar-coated cannonball wrapped in attractive fragrance, but you should understand that addictive snacks contain various additives.

Material desires.

This economic era has produced a number of materialists, and various comparisons have emerged. The more expensive the house, car, clothes, cosmetics and shoes, the better. Try to get what you can't get, and try your best to keep what you get. In short, it will damage your blood and your mind. So great pressure makes more and more people suffer from mild depression and schizophrenia.

There is a cloud in the Book of Rites: desire cannot be longitudinal. Desire, not indulgence. The more you fill it, the more empty it becomes. The more you fill it, the more painful it is. In the health books of past dynasties, special attention was paid to the control of desire.

We see that those Buddhist and Taoist monks are often the longevity people in the crowd. Why? Because they have no desires and desires, they have put aside the splendor and lust in the world, and they have no desires in their hearts, so they can naturally increase their essence.

We ordinary people may not be able to let go at once like monks, because desire is difficult. In Dongpo Zhi Lin, Su Dongpo mentioned: "I don't know what to do, and it's hard to get rid of it."

Yesterday, Yang, the satrap, ordered Zhang Gonggui to invite him to ankokuji to talk about the way of keeping in good health. Yu Yun: "Nothing is enough, but it is hard to get rid of desire." Zhang Yun: "Su Ziqing's teeth are covered with snow, and her back is bleeding. Without a word, it can be said that it is do or die. However, it is inevitable that she will have children for Khufu and live in the sea, but what about the sparse bridal chamber? " I know it's not easy to get rid of. "All the guests laughed. Ai Yu's words are very reasonable, so I remembered them.

I once asked Master, "How do you tell a true master?" The teacher replied, "No desire." If you have no desire, you will be a good teacher and friend! Therefore, it is difficult for unwise people to do it.

But desire can be controlled. Mencius said: nourishing the heart is not good at lust. Widowed, few, temperate. Yes! Be temperate!

Temperance, do what you can.

Don't try to fill our mottled hearts with desires, learn to follow the fate and learn to live in the present, so that the body and mind will not be tired and the people will be healthy.

We need this moment, please slow down the secular pace, choose a quiet place in the green mountains and green waters, make a cup of tea soup, sit still and listen to the Zen master tell a wise life.
