Ancient people in China believed that Qi was the essence and foundation of all things in the universe and the origin of life. The vitality of heaven and earth is the foundation of life force. "People are born in the sky with vitality, and each person is given life, thus forming a long and short shape" (on balance). Qi is the foundation of life and health. Yin and Yang are constantly flowing inside and outside the human body. The balance and harmony of yin and yang in human body is the basic expression, and it is also the basic requirement of health and longevity and ancient health preservation.
Yin and Yang is the core category of China's traditional philosophy, and the balance and neutralization of Yin and Yang are the general principles of health care advocated by physicians and health care experts in past dynasties. "Those who can nourish their bodies with neutralization will live a long life" (Chunqiu, The Way to Follow the Heaven). Neijing regards the balance of yin and yang as the basis of health. Once the balance is broken, health will be destroyed. "Neijing" said: "Yin Pingyang is the secret, and the spirit is the rule; Yin and Yang are separated and refined. " The balance of yin and yang is "harmony", and "harmony" is to grasp the balance in the dynamic, and then achieve neutralization.
The ancient theory of health preservation advocates balancing yin and yang vitality and body filling through various methods, such as dynamic and static combination, internal and external combination, exercise and nourishing combination, and combination of form and spirit. Therefore, its means and methods are not fierce and competitive, but attach importance to the cultivation of spirit and spirit. In the specific cultivation method, we follow the principle of meridians. Health preservation is to regulate meridians, smooth qi and blood, and coordinate yin and yang through various methods such as guidance, qigong and martial arts, so as to achieve the effect of improving physical health.
Health preservation and fitness is one of the value functions of Wushu. People practice martial arts, not only to obtain a means and method of self-defense, but also to keep fit and prolong life. The development of Wushu is deeply influenced by the traditional health preserving culture in China. The combination of traditional health preserving theory and methods with Wushu has formed the concept of Wushu health preserving. In theory, "Qi" occupies an important position and is regarded as the foundation of Wushu. All kinds of external forms and verve of Wushu are the evolution and embodiment of "Qi". "Martial arts experts are in Qi" (Preface to Qi Boxing on Thursday 24th by Song Taizu Mao Yuan in Qing Dynasty).
Martial arts practice man as a whole, thinking that man is a small universe, heaven and earth are naturally a big universe, and man and the universe are naturally isomorphic. In acrobatic practice, the structure is offensive and defensive movements, and the rules are rigidity, movement, reality and opening and closing. We observe and explore the nature in the small world of the human body, and realize the harmonious unity of the body and mind inside and outside in the boxing and mechanical movement of blending things with me.
Health preservation takes Yin and Yang as the theoretical framework and Yin and Yang as the "Tao". "There are yin and yang in the way of hand-fighting. When the door is opened and closed, the yin declines and the yang flourishes" (Biography of Gou Jian's Conspiracy in the Spring and Autumn Period of Wu Yue). The change of yin and yang is a fist. "I don't know Yin and Yang, and there is no wonderful change" (Two Notes on Boxing Classics and Boxing Methods). The change of yin and yang is the basic principle of Tai Ji Chuan's health-preserving boxing, such as "Tai Chi exercises power, and the power lies in harmonizing yin and yang", "Tai Chi strives for three benefits to move, while Eight Diagrams strives for survival and restrains the five elements". Yin Pingyang secret is the best state pursued by a family. The internal strength of Wushu is to use different means and methods to promote the balance and harmony of yin and yang, health and longevity.
China's traditional theory of essence and the principle of meridians are integrated into martial arts, which constitutes the connotation of martial arts theory and develops into a martial arts training theory of "refining essence inside and strengthening bones and muscles outside", "practicing both inside and outside" and "integrating form and spirit". Wushu attaches great importance to refining essence, guiding body, combining static and dynamic, combining internal and external, combining intensive cultivation and combining form and spirit. It has evolved from a single Wushu function to a skill of health preservation, fitness and self-cultivation, forming an activity integrating Wushu with health preservation and becoming an important part of culture.
