Lu Baoyu has a great demand for water during the growing season. Spring and autumn are its growing seasons, and it can be watered every day. In summer, the temperature is high and the water evaporates quickly, so it needs to be watered every day. The temperature is low in winter, so the amount of watering should be reduced appropriately.

Grass rain and dew can be applied with light liquid fertilizer, mainly phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, l~2 times a year in spring. Topdressing can be done without fertilizing the leaves, otherwise yellow spots will appear.

Pest control in Lu Baoyu

Lu Baoyu may be infected with root rot, which mainly focuses on prevention to avoid the source of infection. After the onset, metalaxyl and copper preparations can be used for prevention and treatment. If the root is invaded by the root mealybug, it can be sprayed with quick-killing emulsifiable concentrate, and scale insects are also harmful. In severe cases, chemical agents can be sprayed to kill quickly.

Cao's family rearing style

Cao potted plants should use fertile soil and coarse sand, and add a small amount of bone powder appropriately. Its root system is relatively shallow, so it should be cultivated in small shallow pots. When summer is hot, plants are dormant or semi-dormant, so shade and water control are needed.

Lu Baoyu's fleshy leaves store a lot of water, so don't water them too much. Water is poured every 2-3 days during the growing period, and the basin soil is moderately moist. Apply diluted compound fertilizer water once a month.

The basin soil maintained by Cao should be loose and ventilated.
