In 2007, with the suggestion and participation of China Foot Health Association, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and the Ministry of Health jointly issued a document, which approved the national professional standard of reflexotherapists, and listed the profession of reflexotherapists as a unique profession in the national health industry, making the training, use and development of reflexotherapists more institutionalized and standardized.
