What is the relationship between nutrition and health?
1. Nutrition refers to the function of the human body to absorb necessary substances from the outside to maintain life activities such as growth and development. The modern scientific definition of health is the dynamic balance between body and natural environment and social environment, and it is the perfect state of body, spirit and society. Nutrition is closely related to health. Reasonable nutrition can improve health.

2. In order to maintain life and health, and ensure the needs of physical growth, physical activity and learning and thinking, the human body must constantly absorb necessary nutrients from food.

These nutrients include protein, fat, carbohydrates, minerals, vitamins, water and dietary fiber, which are collectively called the seven essential nutrients for human body.

Only by reasonably matching and absorbing these nutrients can we maintain normal life activities and good health. However, unreasonable dietary structure, overnutrition or undernutrition are harmful to the body. Reasonable nutrition has the following benefits for keeping healthy:

(1) promotes growth and development. Nutrition is the material basis of children's growth and development, and people's height is also related to nutritional status.

(2) improve intelligence. Nutritional status has great influence on people's intelligence. 1980, FAO reported that1500,000 Africans are facing hunger, and their children's intelligence and learning ability are obviously affected by the malnutrition of women in these places.

(3) Advocating eugenics. Lack of nutrition can easily lead to fetal malformation, abortion and premature delivery. If pregnant women lack folic acid, it will cause fetal neural tube malformation.

(4) enhance the body's immunity. Reasonable nutrition will enhance the body's resistance to certain diseases.

(5) Promote health and longevity. People's aging and death are inevitable, but reasonable nutrition can prevent and treat diabetes, heart disease, hypertension and other diseases, and has the function of prolonging life.

(6) Prevention and treatment of diseases. The occurrence and development of many diseases are related to unreasonable diet, and reasonable nutrition can prevent and treat these diseases, such as diabetes and hypertension.

(7) treating diseases. For example, reasonable nutrition is the basic means to treat diabetes. Taking chitin can enhance human immunity and regulation, and can help treat diabetes.
