The Sleep Medicine Research Center of the Institute of Basic Theory of China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a sleep medicine research center spontaneously established by the Institute of Basic Theory of China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine and researchers interested in sleep medicine in the Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It consists of physiological research laboratory, pharmacological research laboratory, Chinese medicine sleep medicine research laboratory (formerly Chinese medicine philosophy research laboratory), Chinese medicine brain marrow theory research laboratory, Chinese medicine etiology and pathogenesis research laboratory, biochemistry research laboratory and Chinese medicine outpatient department. The main tasks of the center are to carry out clinical diagnosis and consultation of sleep disorders, carry out theoretical research and experimental research of sleep medicine in traditional Chinese medicine, accept the entrustment of other units or individuals to carry out sleep medicine research, spread scientific knowledge of sleep medicine, carry out academic exchanges of sleep medicine, and carry out sleep medicine related training.

Before the establishment of the Center, the research group led by Dr. Liu Yanjiao began to study sleep medicine from 1995, accumulated some research experience in sleep medicine, translated a large number of academic works and papers on sleep medicine abroad, and held the first national academic seminar on sleep diseases in 1997. Some viewpoints were put forward, such as "developing theoretical research on TCM sleep medicine", "Sleep medicine research and TCM participation" and "future research content of TCM sleep medicine". More than 90 academic papers were exchanged at the meeting, mainly focusing on insomnia, dream syndrome, lethargy, coma, sleep and disease, drugs and sleep, sleep health, multidisciplinary research of traditional Chinese medicine and so on. This was held under the condition that we didn't know the research of sleep medicine abroad. 200 1 the second national symposium on sleep medicine of traditional Chinese medicine was held in Kunming, Yunnan. We invited Professor Zhang Jingxing, Secretary-General of China Sleep Research Association, to give an academic report on "Exploring the Significance of Deep Slow Wave Sleep Mechanism". Invited Wang Qiao, a junior expert from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, to give an academic report on 658 cases of intractable insomnia treated from the liver; He translated the History of Sleep Research written by Japanese Bear, and made a special research report on the contribution of various diseases to sleep medicine. In 2002, the National Sleep Medicine Continuing Education Project "Polysomnography Detection Technology and its Clinical Application Training Course" was held 1 time, and famous domestic expert Zhang Jingxing was invited to give a report on "Sleep Physiology", Baoshan gave a report on "Pharmacological Research on Slow Wave Sleep SWS" and Wu gave a report on "Insomnia and Psychological Disorders". At the same time, Beijing Zhongmeite New Medical Products Co., Ltd., Beijing He Zhong Tongxin Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Xinxing Biomedical Engineering R&D Center, Aiya International Trade Shanghai Co., Ltd., Beijing Jinsheng Technology Co., Ltd. and Beijing Kangye Medicine Co., Ltd. were invited to introduce the latest instruments and products for treating sleep disorders. Editors published 2 academic papers, participated in 2 training courses on sleep medicine held by Peking Union Medical College Hospital, participated in 3 national academic conferences on sleep medicine, and designed their own clinical research questionnaires, which are still in use. The Chinese Medicine of Sleep compiled by the members of this research group introduces in detail the general theory of Chinese medicine of sleep, the basis of Chinese medicine of sleep, the research methods of sleep medicine and the design of sleep laboratory, the diagnosis and treatment of sleep diseases, the Chinese medicine of sleep preservation, the Chinese medicine of promoting sleep and awakening, and the Chinese medicine of sleep culture. Now this book has been published by People's Health Publishing House. In addition, the book Practical Sleep Medicine, which systematically introduces modern sleep medicine, is also being edited. Our research group investigated the sleep status of nearly 400 insomnia patients, and found that the majority of insomnia patients in Beijing are young people and the elderly. It is difficult for young people to fall asleep, but it is easy for old people to wake up halfway. For those who have difficulty falling asleep, the self-developed prescription can solve the problem of falling asleep within 3-7 days, and the "dialectical record" treatment of the elderly can also effectively make the middle easy to wake up. Participated in the crowd use evaluation of midrib bedding and the crowd use evaluation of Zhuhai Tiannian healthy sleep system.
