Gansu has a vast territory and beautiful natural scenery. The Loess Plateau, vast grasslands, vast Gobi and white glaciers constitute a magnificent picture of natural scenery. Everyone knows that Gansu's cultural tourism resources rank fifth in the country, and there are other types of tourism resources except oceans and islands and reefs. Last August, the Tourism Bureau launched a "train tour around the west", also known as "land cruise", connecting major tourist cities in northwest China. But when it comes to Gansu tourism, people will first think of Yumenguan, Crescent Moon Spring, Mogao Grottoes, Dunhuang murals, camel bells in the desert, Danxia wonders and so on. But what other scenic spots in Gansu are worth punching in?

Tianshui Station-Maijishan Grottoes

Maiji Mountain, located in Maiji District, Tianshui City, Gansu Province, is an isolated peak in Xiaolongshan, with an altitude of 1.42 meters, so it is named because the mountain shape resembles a wheat pile. Maijishan Grottoes contain 22 1 grottoes, 10632 clay sculptures and 1.300 square meters murals, and are known as the Oriental Sculpture Art Exhibition Hall.

If Dunhuang is a big mural museum, Maijishan is a big sculpture museum. The statues here are as high as 16 m and as small as 10 cm, which embodies the characteristics of statues in various eras in the Millennium and reflects the development and evolution of clay sculpture art in China.

Maijishan Grottoes was founded in the period of the Sixteen Countries after the Qin Dynasty, and lasted for more than 1,600 years after the Western Qin Dynasty, the Northern Wei Dynasty, the Western Wei Dynasty, the Northern Zhou Dynasty, the Sui Dynasty, the Tang Dynasty, the Song Dynasty, the Yuan Dynasty, the Ming Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty.

Pingliang Railway Station-Kongtong Mountain

Kongtong Mountain is located in Pingliang City, Gansu Province. Xi 'an in the east, Lanzhou in the west, Baoji in the south and Yinchuan in the north are the fortresses of the ancient Silk Road in the west. Since ancient times, it has been known as "the first mountain in the west", "the wonder of western town" and "the beauty of Kongtong Mountain in the world" and "the first Taoist mountain in China". Kongtong Mountain Wushu, which is well known to all, also originated from Kongtong Mountain and is one of the five martial arts schools in China. The most famous legend of Kongtong Mountain is that Huangdi Xuanyuan visited Kongtong Mountain and asked the wise men for advice on how to run the country and keep healthy.

There is an ancient town near Kongtong Mountain, which integrates catering, accommodation, entertainment, shopping and leisure. There are not only traditional famous snacks and farm dishes, but also bars and cafes with Chinese and western characteristics. There are not only calligraphy, painting, culture and entertainment halls, but also tourism product exhibition centers and shopping centers.

Zhangye Station-Pingshan Lake Grand Canyon

Friends who travel to Zhangye have seen the sunset in Danxia, and don't forget to go to Pingshan Lake Grand Canyon to appreciate the unique geological features. Pingshan Lake Grand Canyon is located in Pingshan Lake Township, Ganzhou District, Zhangye City. The Grand Canyon is by far the closest comprehensive tourist attraction in China, which integrates natural wonders, canyon exploration, geological research, ethnic customs and self-driving cross-country. It has been praised as "comparable to Zhangjiajie" and "comparable to the Grand Canyon" by China Geography magazine and well-known geological experts and tourists at home and abroad.

Stepping into the maze-like canyon and being in the criss-crossing ravines, the peaks of the forest are as wonderful as the masterpieces of world architects, which makes people dizzying.

Wuwei Railway Station-Tiantishan Grottoes

Among many grottoes in China, the number of murals and statues in Gansu Grottoes is the largest, the best preserved and the longest spanning time. In Gansu Province, starting from Dunhuang, it passed through Zhangye, Wuwei and Yongjing, and then to Tianshui and Qingyang, forming a famous grotto art gallery.

Tiantishan Grottoes were built in Beiliang during the Sixteen Countries Period of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, 1600 years ago. It is also called Liangzhou Grottoes, located in Dengshan Village, Zhangyi Town, 50 kilometers south of Wuwei City. Tiantishan Grottoes is one of the earliest excavated grottoes in China, and it is also the representative of early grottoes art in China. It is the source of Yungang Grottoes and Longmen Grottoes, which occupies an important position in the history of Buddhism in China and is known as the "originator of grottoes".
