This plant is called Li Tang in my hometown. This is a kind of wild tree that grows on the mountain. Its main purpose is to graft pear trees, namely pestle trees. There are also straight trunks, which are used to make sickle handles and axe handles. It is very strong. Those twigs can be used as firewood, and flowers and fruits can be eaten, but the fruits are small and astringent, and can only be eaten after they are fully ripe.

It is not uncommon for this kind of tree to grow everywhere on the mountains here. In spring, the pears on this tree are very delicious. People will cut down plants to pick them. If it doesn't rain this year, Dulu pear tree growing on the hillside will die, so people think it is less and less. In fact, there are still many beside the gullies with water.

This spring, my cousin and I went to the village to pick Li Du pears for cooking. At that time, it was the season of pear blossom in Li Du. Because the thorns on the tree are difficult to pick, this kind of flower is more expensive in the market, and it costs eight yuan to buy a catty. This is also one of our favorite wild vegetables.

A few years ago, due to serious logging, many excellent Woods were cut down by people. For example, the root of plum has long thorns. If it is not very high, it is useless. Few people want it. Even if it is cut, it can only be used as firewood, otherwise it will be cut in the way. Usually no one wants it.

Even if it is cut down, it can regenerate leaves in the second year. It is a wild tree with strong vitality and adaptability. It's an exaggeration to say that this tree is a treasure, but it really has some uses besides making rafts. It can be used to treat diseases.

Like our mountain people in Yunnan, we often go to the mountains to pick mushrooms in summer. If we eat Du in mushrooms, Du pear can be used as an antidote, and its stem endothelium can be used for decoction. There are also dysentery and enteritis, which can also be taken in this way.

When I was a child, we often picked the fruit of Du Li's family and covered it in rice bran to eat. This kind of pear looks like a miniature yellow pear. It tastes astringent when it is not cooked, but it tastes good when it is cooked.

Moreover, its plants can be grafted with pear trees after being moved home for two or three years. Perhaps it is for this reason that rural elderly people will say that they are "covered in treasures." Now pear trees can be planted without this kind of tree. In the past, under the condition of low technical content, grafting pear trees with Dulu pear trees may be the only way.
