Eating shark's fin is similar to eating bird's nest and bear's paw. Taking tiger bone, rhinoceros horn and bear gall as precious medicinal materials is a part of China's traditional health-preserving and nourishing culture. But there is no scientific basis. For example, bird's nest is Jin Siyan's saliva, and its ingredients include protein, carbohydrates, minerals and so on, which is not magical.
There is no essential difference between the composition of tiger bone and other mammals, and it does not contain unique active substances. Traditional medicine and folk believe that these things are tonics and medicines. One reason is that they are rare, so things are rare. Another reason is that these animals are fierce and strong, thinking that eating their body parts can transfer magic to themselves, similar to inductive witchcraft. This is actually a superstition.
There is no need to inherit the harmful superstitious part of traditional culture, let alone carry it forward. China people's superstition of tiger bones and rhinoceros horns led to the extinction of tigers and rhinoceros, and tiger bones and rhinoceros horns were also banned from medicine by the state. China people's enthusiasm for shark fin is also seriously threatening the survival of sharks all over the world. It is unrealistic to ban shark fin, but in order to protect the ecosystem and health, you should consciously refuse to eat shark fin, and treat inviting people to eat shark fin as an immoral behavior similar to inviting people to eat poison, rather than the embodiment of hospitality.
