I think Chinese medicine learners have more or less heard of Fu Qingzhu's name, and many people know and read Fu Qingzhu Gynecology. At the same time, I think the position of this book in gynecology in China is needless to say. But when it comes to Chen Shiduo, it is estimated that many people who hear this name will have a strange feeling: Who is he? Is it Chinese medicine? People with a slight impression may know his two books, The Secret Records of Chambers and Records of Dialectics. As for what I have read, I am afraid it is also a minority.
Before talking about the relationship between them, let's compare their works: We find that Fu Qingzhu's Gynecology is 99% similar to Chen Shiduo's Treatment Based on Syndrome Differentiation and Women's Medicine, with only a few differences, while other works signed by Fu Qingzhu, such as Fu Qingzhu Andrology, Fu Qingzhu Pediatrics and Chen Shiduo's medical books, are basically the same in some parts.
More importantly, Chen Shiduo's medical books cover internal medicine, surgery, women and children, facial features, theory, diagnosis, Chinese medicine and other aspects, and these contents have a complete and unified system of principles, methods, prescriptions and medicines. At first glance, Fu Qingzhu's medical books seem to be just "excerpts" from Chen Shiduo's medical books.
Seeing this, I think there may be many speculations or conclusions about their relationship, but I want to remind you that the medical inheritance relationship between Fu Qingzhu and Chen Shiduo is one of the biggest mysteries in the history of traditional Chinese medicine. The debate in the field of traditional Chinese medicine has been over 100 years, and it has not been solved yet, and there is no conclusion.
In fact, I think anyone who has just finished reading the preface of Chen Shiduo's medical books may put it down directly, because the people who wrote the preface are the top figures of the two medical schools, such as Qi Bo, Zhang Zhongjing, Lv Dongbin and others. Moreover, he also said that these books were taught to him by Qi Baishi, Zhang Zhongjing and others, and he just recorded them and passed them on to future generations.
I think anyone who reads these books will find them ridiculous. I think when Luo Dalun saw them, he felt very angry and thought this man was very unreliable. He hasn't read Chen Shiduo's book for several years. This is the case today, and so is the ancients. In addition, some prescriptions of Chen Shiduo are too heavy, and each medicine is often calculated according to two doses of modern medicine. Some prescriptions add up to more than half a catty, which greatly violates common sense. I think few people dared to use these prescriptions in ancient times and now.
Although there is little difference between the two medical books, the difference is the critical point of clinical treatment. For example, the dosage of the same prescription in two books will be different. Secondly, the drugs used in Fu Qingzhu medical books are mostly concocted, which is rarely involved in Chen Shiduo's books.
Thirdly, since the publication of Fu Qingzhu Gynecology, because of its famous name in Fu Qingzhu, the prescriptions contained in it have high clinical efficacy, which has attracted more and more attention from doctors, that is, the clinical application is mainly based on Fu Qingzhu medical books. On the contrary, Chen Shiduo's medical books with a complete medical system were ignored by doctors for the above reasons and gradually disappeared into the voluminous medical classics in China, so Fu Qingzhu's books still have high research reference value.
I remember my first contact with Chen Shiduo and Fu Qingzhu when I was reading Luo Dalun's Ancient Chinese Medicine. This article written by Dr. Luo can be described as historical, affectionate and meaningful, and his life has been restored with vivid feelings. At the same time, he also put forward a new view on one of the biggest mysteries in China's medical history and the mystery of Chen Shiduo's medical inheritance. I suggest you look for it. It's very informative.
If it aroused my interest in them, Tan, who is known as "Wang Yuyan of Traditional Chinese Medicine", gave me sufficient motivation to study and study Chen Shiduo's medical thought.
Tan praised in the article Classic Materia Medica Pharmacology and Its Application in Classic Prescriptions: "At that time, there was a master who created a prescription almost as effective as Zhongjing. If Zhongjing can be called a "medical sage", then this person can probably be called a "medical fairy". This immortal is Fu Qingzhu (Fu Shan), who is inextricably linked with the royal family of the Ming Dynasty and enjoys the reputation of being a doctor. "
At the same time, he also quoted and explained their prescriptions in the teaching of traditional Chinese medicine. With Tan Jie's vast knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine and extensive reading range, he can have such an evaluation. I think the medical thoughts of Fu Qingzhu and Chen Shiduo are worth digging and sorting out.
Of course, the most important point is that Fu Qingzhu's works have been clinically verified by 190 years since the publication of Gynecology in Fu Qingzhu. What about Chen Shiduo's medical books? I am full of curiosity as to whether the other parts have the same medical value except those repeated with Fu Qingzhu.
Of course, physicians in past dynasties seldom applied and studied this part, and they had to find it by themselves. The above is the origin of this study. The goal of this study is to sort out Fu Qingzhu's and Chen Shiduo's theories, methods and prescriptions completely and systematically, and the time span may be two to three years. Please wait and see.
