Compared with breast pumps, some mothers prefer the natural way, and skin-to-skin contact is more likely to stimulate lactation reflex. The biggest advantage of manual milking is that it is convenient and can be used at any time when needed, so it is not a loss for mothers to master this skill! Do you know the correct way to milk by hand?
First of all, teach everyone the correct way to milk by hand.
1, circular massage
Wash your hands with soap and running water before milking, whether sitting or standing, which makes you feel comfortable. In fact, this time is the same as kneading dough in northerners. Stick to gently kneading clockwise. It should be emphasized that the harder you work, the better the effect. Don't care too much!
2, get through the breast
At this time, if you encounter lumps or milk knots, you must first clear the "blocking point" near the nipple. Note that the knuckles of the four fingers should be constantly moving back and forth, not fixed.
3. Push rod method
If the milk blocking position has been broken up in the previous step, you can use this method to drive the milk to the nipple position and push it from the edge to the middle.
4. Leave enough space for the breast under the milk.
In this way, the most important thing is to leave room for the breast to pass through the milk. Only when the breasts are unobstructed can the milk be discharged smoothly.
5, repeatedly dredge
After completing this action, you can hold the nipple with a paper towel and shake it at will, then put your thumb and forefinger 2 cm away from the root of the nipple, with the two fingers facing each other, and hold the breast with other fingers and gently press it down toward the chest wall. You must press them on the mammary sinus below the areola, and press the areola in all directions in the same way, so that the milk in each mammary sinus of the breast is squeezed out. Be careful not to press too deep, otherwise it will cause breast duct blockage. Press it repeatedly, and the milk will drip out after several times. Squeeze one breast for at least 3 to 5 minutes. Note: Don't feel pain when milking yourself. If it hurts, it means the method is not correct.
