Open kitchen generally refers to non-enclosed kitchen compartments, and often the kitchen and dining room are integrated or the kitchen and living room are adjacent. Therefore, the decoration design of the kitchen must be planned reasonably, so as not to bring inconvenience to other rooms. The following five points should be paid attention to when designing:

Direction: that is, the ventilation position of the kitchen. Generally speaking, from spring to autumn, the south of China is dominated by southeast winds. If the open kitchen is in the windward position, the smell of lampblack will be blown back into the house. Open kitchens are generally not recommended in such places.

Oil replacement: Chinese people pay attention to "boiler gas", and there is no shortage of high-power range hoods and exhaust fans. It is recommended to install one or two exhaust fans on the nearby ceiling. Cooking utensils in the open kitchen should be selected without producing too much oil fume, so the high-power range hood is an indispensable "oil fume guard" in the open kitchen. It is better to have a bigger window, which can ensure good ventilation, reduce the smell of indoor oil smoke and make the indoor light brighter.

Beauty: Since the open style is chosen, the pots and pans in the kitchen can't be exposed to the public, so good storage is obviously necessary. This requires the "strong cooperation" between the open kitchen and the whole cabinet. If your open kitchen is a combination of dining, kitchen and guests, then we should consider the harmony between the living room, dining room furniture and kitchen furniture to ensure that the "open kitchen" can naturally blend into the overall home atmosphere.

Building materials: The selected building materials and furniture should be non-slip, waterproof and easy to clean. It is suggested to lay non-slip and wear-resistant tiles to avoid laying solid wood floors. For example, furniture made of materials that are not easy to absorb oil, such as metal or wood and plastic, is easy to absorb oil, so it is not recommended to use it near the kitchen. It is also best not to use cloth curtains and furniture ornaments around the kitchen.

Space: every kitchen space will have basic structures such as firewall or overhead beam when it is built. When the kitchen partition is rebuilt, we must consider the existing situation of the structure and make clever use of it. If there is a lintel on the wall to be rebuilt, it can be transformed into a strip-shaped lighting roof, but it cannot be removed, so as not to affect the building.

Structural stability. The placement of tables and chairs in the open kitchen should not affect the cooking operation space. When the dining chair is pulled out, the back of the chair should be more than one meter away from the cupboard, while the general dining chair should occupy at least 2 meters in width. In addition, the depth of the cabinet requires that the long side or wide side of the kitchen should be at least 3.6 meters. Don't spare too many cookers on the countertop of open kitchen to ensure its beauty. Therefore, the storage function of the cabinet should be as large as possible, and all the "unsightly" can be put into the cabinet.
