Do you believe in Chinese medicine? Chinese medicine experts come in!
1. Is TCM pseudoscience?

The research method of TCM does not adopt scientific method, so whether TCM establishes pseudoscience depends on whether TCM is regarded as science. If Chinese medicine is regarded as science, it becomes pseudoscience, otherwise Chinese medicine is just non-science. Just like methanol. If you think of it as wine, it becomes fake wine, otherwise it is just methanol.

Second, Chinese medicine should be divided into two parts.

Theoretical part and empirical part

Theoretical parts, such as yin and yang, five elements, monarch and minister's assistance, meridians and so on;

Experience part, such as Yunnan Baiyao, various prescriptions, foreign prescriptions and acupuncture and other unique treatment methods.

In the theoretical part, because these theories were not obtained by scientific methods, but by ancient metaphysical methods, their reasoning and establishment have nothing to do with science. Therefore, the theory of TCM is based on metaphysics, not science. On this premise, it is not valid to describe the theory of TCM as science, which also fully shows that people who classify TCM as science lack self-confidence and feel inferior if they are not labeled as science (in fact, in the field of natural research, non-scientific theories are indeed full of absurdity).

In the experience part, there is no question of science or not. Experience is never a science, it is only the object of scientific research. Just as we can control our hunger when eating, this is experience (instinct), not science. The experience gained from eating, drinking, breathing, falling in love, ... and so on is unscientific.

It is often said that science will explain Chinese medicine clearly in the future. In fact, this dream will never come true. The research object of science is not any theory. The theoretical part of TCM will never be studied scientifically. Whether a theory is valid or not lies not in whether it can be scientifically explained, but in whether it can submit enough evidence to prove its validity. Traditional Chinese medicine does not want to produce strict evidence to prove it, but it is not only ridiculous, but also will never be realized.

However, the experience of Chinese medicine can be studied by science, but the income after scientific research becomes scientific achievements, which has nothing to do with Chinese medicine. Because what you get through scientific research is science (no matter right or wrong, it is science, and the wrong science is also science, but the science that has been proved wrong is no longer used).

Third, how to treat ancient knowledge of nature?

In the field of natural research, the older the knowledge, the less reliable it is. Medicine also belongs to this field. So the more ancestors handed it down, the more unreliable it is. Because our ancestors did not have modern rigorous research ideas, modern rigorous research methods and modern sophisticated research equipment, it is inevitable that our ancestors could transcend historical limitations, discover mysterious methods that even modern science could not find, and even surpass the level of modern science. This is completely a delusion based on faith. Of course, under that historical condition, it is not bad that our ancestors reached that level, and they can also be called historical giants. But in modern times, if we can't stand on the arms of ancient giants and see farther, we have to look up in knowledge, which can only explain one thing. Those who look up to the ancient giants have become dwarfs ideologically and are ideological neets.

Fourth, Chinese medicine, like ancient western medicine, is the product of metaphysics and experience, which is completely different from logic and empirical science. After the birth of modern science, ancient western medicine based on the four-element theory was gradually eliminated and disappeared from medical history. And Chinese medicine with the same level as ancient western medicine has already reached the grave, and is still exposed in China for various reasons, and refuses to be buried anyway.

Of course, this does not mean to eliminate all Chinese medicine practitioners, but to test and study the empirical part of Chinese medicine, but to abandon its absurd theoretical part-waste drug testing. Let the effective part of Chinese medicine continue to serve mankind, and absurd theories should not be used to harm people.
